What do you think about these movies? I prefer watching House of 1000 Corpses first, and The Devils Rejects right after.

Surely you must watch House of 1000 Corpses first, because Devils Rejects is the sequel to the first one..

It was one of the first movies, which attract me to Slasher Horror movies.. I really respect Rob Zombie, and I this he's more successful as a directer rather than a singer.

I like the first movie more. It was something interesting, with a very good ending with Dr. Satan.
The second movie was alright, but it was so similar to Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Same atmosphere, same lovely family.. I read somewhere, Rob Zombie mentioned that he inspired that movie for making his own, but I think he has overdo in inspiring

Ofcourse. What I meant was watching HO1000C first and right after TDR. To get the whole experience! :-D

I love the Firefly-family, and another thing I like about these movies is the sympathy the viewer gets with "the bad guys". Even though they are serial killers and so on.. I like it when movies have that effect. And ofcourse.. The music... yum! :-D

I don't think I can decide which movie I like best..

The Devil's Rejects was pretty enjoyable & fun, didn't care much for the House.
Otis was such an adorable psycho, hah!

Although I don't care for his solo career, I highly doubt he'll ever be more successful as a director than a musician.

Otis rocks! "We regret to inform you that the show "Banjo and Sullivan" will be cancelled tonight."

I even have an Otis action figure :-D http://www.starstore.com/acatalog/Devils-Rejects-figures.jpg

Saw these movies a while back, and I have Devil's rejects on DVD lying around somewhere. They were quite entertaining, but I think I preferred House... over Devil's Rejects.

They were both fun though.

That's exactly right.. At the end of movie, they were shown so emotional to each other. And of course they died as heroes.. And yes, Lynyrd Skynyrd's masterpiece made it even better..

I was pretty disappointed with house of a 1000 corpses. It's got a few cool parts but overall not a great movie IMO. I liked devils rejects a little more.

"The Devil's Rejects" is one of the few movies that got my moral muscle tingling. I mean, I can watch any kind of brutal shit and enjoy it - all the colors of the rainbow, from rape to torture, from Braindead to Martyrs, from cannibal movies to "torture porn" - but The Rejects left a bad taste in my mouth. I felt that the director was glorifying psychopaths and their actions there, trying to make us even feel sorry for them. Actually the violence was quite mild in that movie but it was presented in a way I couldn't really enjoy. Paraphrasing Mark Kermode, anyone who admires psychopaths is an idiot.

I liked 1000 Corpses, though, it was quite psychedelic experience and didn't implicate any kind of moral judgment.
