Sentenced - Guitarist Dies At Age 34
Finnish newspapers and Blabbermouth.net are reporting that Miika Tenkula, former lead guitarist and main songwriter of the acclaimed Finnish band Sentenced, was found dead at his home earlier yesterday (Thursday, February 19). He was 34 years old. Miika Tenkula was also the band's original vocalist from 1989 to late 1992.
Nalle Österman (Gandalf, Lullacry, Chaosbreed) tells Blabbermouth.net, "It's true, confirmed personally by [former Sentenced] drummer Vesa Ranta. The fact remains that Miika had a serious drinking problem for many years which escalated after Sentenced was buried. They don't call it King Alcohol for nothing... The metal scene in Finland mourns now for one of the most talented metal guitarists to ever emerge from [the country]."
The official cause of Miika's death has not yet been released.

Fuck! that's really really sad...:( i love sentenced and this makes it even sadder...he wrote great music so his legacy will remain. i hope the end of sentenced had nothing to do with it...rest in peace miika.

WTF!! How can a death can be called "lame & stupid" or it seems it is unbelievable that he died cause of drinking too much! Who really knows what he was passing through or someone was inside his mind or someone knows what was troubling him?? The thing is that he died, and even if you don't like what a musician composed a little respect it is a must. Trivializing about someone's death that i would call it STUPID. Thankl you Miika for composing such great songs that i will keep in my mind forever and ever.
