I found some translations, but I dunno if they are any good. Checking out Thoor now. BTW it is very hard to get these Root albums, I only have 3...

About Root well probobly Im only one who knows them in latvia, becaus ethat kind a bands wont be here so popular, I think thay area are Germany, Poland, Cz, SVK, Hungarty, Romania and well your mother has studiet russian in school like in all countries she must remebe rsomething and languages are simmilar

My mum also studied russian, but she doesn't remember a thing. I'll look up a dictionary on the net, I think. I'm happy now, I jsut found a lot of Root albums on Slsk

I'm just listening to Beltaine...I like Salamanda,some songs from Arakain,Kabat is a very good band...but I dont know Ador Dorath and other although I'm Czech I choose between Salamandra and Beltaine...its so difficult...each one has its own style of metal...ok...I vote Salamandra,I know it much more better than Beltaine but SSOGE is excellent too...hmm...

Other info: Quite controversial person. Czechs love him or hate him, nothing between. You can guess what part am I. His music is about Czech (but not only Czech) history (e.g. 1938 or Verbiri (Recruit officers)) and politics (e.g. Vltava or Protestsong), but also about death (Vrana (Crow)), war (Muzi s padaky (Men with parachutes)), crime and life in general (Jo,ulice (Yeah,street) or Sen (Dream)) he has some fantasy-related songs (Obsidian) etc. etc. I could say a lot about him, but there is not right place for it. I also suppose that maybe you must understand his lyrics to like him, I don't know...

Well, that's all. Somebody really have read it till the end? I wonder...
In case you haven't still enough, I know there were two compilations of Czech metal music called 'Masters of Czech Metal' with such bands as Kabat, Alkehol, Krucipusk, Merlin, Root, Debustrol, Kurtizany z 25. avenue, Asmodeus (and many others, of course) on it. Maybe you find it somewhere.

One more thing (then you can finally shoot me) - I voted for Salamandra in the poll, maybe they aren't the most original band in the world (I would say they are something like Gamma Ray and Sonata Arctica...) but, as I said before, we haven't got many good bands in this genre in our country, so I'm glad they exist and they play this great music.

'Hlas' is voice,
'davnych' means long ago, old,
'casu' means times, but also eras or something like that.
So I would translate it as 'Voice of the old times', the meaning can be also 'Voice from the past' ...
And 'Pravo na smrt' is 'Right for death', yes.
