Iam a huge britney spears fan aswell as into metal, but i do prefer metal compared to anything else. I started listen to britney when she first came out so i was like 13 and then i started getting into metal around 15. I would suggest any slipknot thats what got me into metal and ever since then my taste has gotten alot better.

Oh, I don't know how I read over this, but how is prog "accessible"? I think it takes quite an open mind and patience to dig a lot of prog rock/metal. :/

eh I see what you mean about the patience part...just seems like alot of folks who like prog also like other accessible stuff (doesn't have to be metal either) ProgPower is in my city every year (Atlanta) so this is what I've noticed first hand.

I want out by Helloween its not that long for someone who likes pop, not very heavy, great vocals, and good guitar solo

Nightwish is a good band to show pop-listeners. They're brutal and epic, but still very accessible. The melody is always clear and catchy, and the groove is always good.

Nobody can not do it. They earn money and they like it. Pops don't think about metal bands seriously. Some pops think that they know something about metal but they mistakes.

Pop listener?? Uhm i'd say...nightwish, epica or after forever...even my mom likes those

I'd suggest master of puppets, some mastodon songs like the wolf is loose or blood and thunder, or some "guitar hero" songs will do....
softer songs from nightwish, evergrey or Halloween
it's proven already..

Rammstein is a total Win for pop listeners.
And yes, Epica is perfect. Someone I know who happens to be a very gay young man likes Epica. So there you go.

Something like Nightwish or Epica. I think that kind of stuff would just attract pop listeners.

The pop listener has probably already heard Enter Sandman so I would pick a heavier, older song like Seek And Destroy or Metal Militia

If I Could Fly by Helloween, not the heaviest song, but at least they'll know that Power Metal isn't exactly "crazy peoples music"

My theory is that pop listener's brains need to forcefully raped into the world of metal, not gently eased into it. Thus I will play for them Pure Hatred by The Berzerker.

I think that Gothenburg metal would be a good way to bring a mainstream pop listener into the world of metal. The track that I would probably choose is "We Will Rise" by Arch Enemy.

Msybe a glam Metal band like Skid Row, Motley Crue, Dokken or White Lion.

Walk by Pantera, just about everybody in the world likes that song.
They can throw the horns stomp in a sudo-mosh style and sing along!

You're fuckin' right man! It's already bad enough that there are mainstream metal bands, we need to keep the norms the fuck out of our culture! Take a page from Dee Snider guys, "What the fuck?", we don't need, nor want popular culture fans as part of our "scene", fuck 'em!

There are always going to be bands that will try to attract mainstream music listeners to heavy metal just so that they can make a large amount of cash...you guys will just have to bite the bullet and ignore all of the future fads created in the sub realms...
