Can't go moshing or headbanging any more....too old, can't keep up with the kids these days I'm quite happy to stand there and watch these days. I went to some great gigs over the years but i couldn't tell ya if the bands were any good cause i was too busy moshing.

I'm too old to mosh now! It fuckin hurts!!!!!
I'm off to the side of the circle pit with the elbow up to take out strays from the swirling mass!
Or I will be up at the front until I hear my vertebra snapping!

Back to the subject i LOVE!!!! to mosh all day every day!!! however i do where earplugs. gotta keep them ears fresh for the next band.

Hmm..., depends where I am I guess. If i'm closer to the stage or in group with a lot of others, then i'm a head banger But if i'm way at the back where people are socializing and getting stoned, i'm a quiet listener .

In a couple years though, i'll go to a lot of concerts just to be the "I go there just to drink beer" dude. ... Unless i'm a huge fan of course.

I'm a blend of headbanger and quiet listener. Depending on the crowd, and the band.

Both of firs two,but since i am more into black metal and most of the shows here are heavy/thrash/shit-core i chose "I'm evil and you know it" because all the comments/looks by other metal heads on such shows... I scare the shit out of them...

haha yeah.....but honestly I do not plan for it to happend..it just happens...true story

At local shows, I'm the front row headbanger with my lovely hair and boyfriend and friends with all their lovely hair
At big shows, I just try to stand close enough to see, I jump a lot, sing a lot and headbang if there's enough room

If it is a band that I like or haven't heard so much before I'm usually behind the moshpit somewhere and just listen. If I don't care about the band I jump into the moshpit, hurt my leg, get tired of it and go to the beer tent....

I'm with you...except I can't actually buy beer, so i go shoulder tapping....or take some drinks from some flask i snuck in.

I didn't bother reading through the last 5 pages of responses, so somebody might've already said this, but I'm kinda surprised "Mosher" isn't one of the options. I wouldn't have picked it, but I'd bet a lot of folks would've. Anywho, I went with "Headbanger." I fucking love banging my head, right at the edge of the stage. If my neck hurts for the next week or so, I know it was a good show. Also, I'm kinda the "Douchebag who leaves after his favorite band's set is over," and also the, "Guy who just sits in the back if he doesn't like a particular band's set." Also, I wear earplugs when I can - mostly because I want to be able to talk to people the next day and hear what they're saying, but also because a lot of venues mic the drums way too loud, or the vocals way too loud, and putting on earplugs kinda evens things out, so that you can actually hear all of the instruments at the same time. And, I do mosh once in a while.

Im more of a mosher but that wasnt a choice so i picked headbanger, because i also love headbanging, but i love moshing even more. Ive had big dudes, small dudes, and chicks come up to me in between bands and tell me how crazy i was in the pit and that i scared the shit out of them.

I'm generally the guy who get's slammed in the back by the mosh pit so my girlfriend doesn't

I am generally a headbanger myself, really depends on the band (if I love them, or if they are able to otherwise engage me). Although I may also take pictures and record videos of the performance just to preserve memory of the show.

Yeah me too I've discovered alot of bands by going early Its always nice to find new stuff and also you can buy their merch directly, since its pretty hard to find when its unknown openers. Thats also how I discovered Barn Burner

I love to headbang like crazy, and do some moshing every now and then. I am kinda short, so I tend to have a problem in pits... My face is at elbow level and i have broken my nose and gotten a few black eyes because of that. After my nose was broken they made me fill out an injury report and i had to miss an entire fucking set!!! I wasnt mad about a broken nose (i fixed it in the bathroom), I was mad that they made me fill out paperwork for insurance reasons and then mad me sit around to ensure i wasnt going to get blood on anybody.

AS people have said before .. depends on the band .. at some concerts I love to mosh, at others I'm just headbanging in front of the stage at others I'm just chilling with a beer

Most of the gigs I've been to have been death metal concerts. So, if I'm not in the pit, then I'm right up at the front headbanging.

I would do same but I can not pay more then 1-3 beers , not in Sweden
