even official snow mobile roads are 99% safe, but we ride over all and be in ice its always at your own risk, and mid april is my border when I go on the ice
We have one ice road for cars, in Luleå you can drive car to small islands . To get to the town I need cross 6 lakes, by snow mobile and almost all roads cross some water way. I gass as crazy when I cross rivers or big big lakes
What is that one CD you have, that is not metal, that is one of your most favorites?
One that you believe belongs in everyone's collection.
For me it is Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
I love how the entire album sounds and feels, David Gilmours playing is full of emotion.
The song Wish You Were Here touches me every time I hear it, takes me back to when my father passed away...
Dark Side Of The Moon may be more popular, but for my ears, this is one of the greatest albums ever.
Ok, I have a few:
Smashing Pumpkins: Siamese Twins
Eminem: Slim Shady LP
Death Cab For Cutie: Transatlantacism
Radiohead: The bends, In Rainbows, Ok Computer...

When God made up the golden rule, do you think he noticed that it condones rape?
These things change, but right now my list would look something like this (in no order):
Tori Amos - Boys For Pele/Under The Pink
Portishead - Dummmy
Regina Spektor - Soviet Kitsch
Kate Bush - The Dreaming
Low - I Could Live In Hope
The Gathering - Souvenirs
Leonard Cohen - Songs of Love and Hate
Akira Yamaoka - Silent Hill 2 OST
There's a handful of other ablums that might make the cut, but not quite: Simon & Garfunkel - Bookends (hard to pick a favorite from them, though), Tom Waits - Bone Machine/Rain Dogs/Mule Variations, Paul Simon - Graceland, Fever Ray - Fever Ray, PJ Harvey - Let England Shake/Stories From The City..., The Cure - Disintegration, Cocteau Twins - Victorialand, Red House Painters - Down Colorful Hill, Earth - The Bees Made Honey... I could go on and on, too many albums I couldn't give up.
Quoting a comment from over six months ago to tell you how happy I am you've reminded me of this band, I LOVED their first two albums and then completely forgot about them for a couple of years. Should look them up to see what they've been doing since then, pronto

Haha cool, glad to help.
I think they released just one more after their s/t. Haven't really checked that one out. Let me know if it's as good as their s/t

If you never wake up from a dream does it become reality?
The Beatles - Rubber Soul
The Beatles - Revolver
The Misfits - Everything
Samhain - Everything
The Mars Volta - Deloused
Led Zeppelin - Everything
Miles David - Everything
John Coltrane - Everything
Too many more to list, those just came off the top of my head
My favorite non metal album must be Aerosmith's "Pump". It's their best work and it was the album that got me started into rock and then metal. I actually got to hear them play alot of it live in Toronto a 5 years back, though I was more than a little stoned at the time so I don't remember all of it That was the day I decided never to get stoned again too, I thought Steven Tyler was on fire
Antimattr saviours
black tape for a blue girl: Remnants of a deeper purity
Dargaard : the dissolution of Eternity
Trobar de Morte: fairydust.
and many more I Will add them later
Florence and the machine - Ceremonies. Anyone paying attention to pop recently has probably heard this band, but damn they are great. Florence has an amazing voice, the music is so lush and the lyrics are brilliant. The songs are so layered and atmospheric, they just make you want to give it another listen... and another.... and another...
the Dear Hunter - Colors. A break from their acts, this series of EPs is freaking amazing. Each is a different style of music reflecting a color and all are very well done, though some are pure mindblowing. I highly recommend Blue, Indigo, Red and White (those are my favs). It really show's Casey's talent with song writing.
Alot of African Rhythms and at the moment, these...
Thandiswa Mazwai - Zabalaza
Youssou N'dour - Egypt
Simphiwe Dana - Kulture Noir
Etienne M'Bappe - Su La Take
Somi - If The Rains Come First
Joe Ziwanul - My People
Fela Kuti - Zombie
Heymoonshaker - Beatbox Blues, its basically a dude on guitar and vocals and a guy beatboxing. Great vocals and some really groovy catchy tunes. Miloopa - Polish live electro outfit. They have a bit of downtempo, dubstep and a nice electro vibe going for them. Bubble Chamber - Another Polish live dubstep/electro band. Some really cool dark dubstep with some dnb thrown in

Explosions In The Sky - All Of A Sudden I Miss Everyone, Take Care Take Care Take Care
Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon, The Wall, Wish You Were Here
That's about it...
Meddle by Pink Floyd. Everything about that album is perfect, and the song Echoes... dear lord that song is glorious. It's actually my favorite album of all time

Yes! Echoes is great!
Echoes and One Of These Days I would say both songs are metal for their time.

Old enough to be your Daddy... speaking of which... you look familiar... do I know your mother???
Depeche Mode's "Music for the Masses" is one of my top five favorite albums ever made. I also love The Smiths' "Meat Is Murder", Genesis' "Foxtrot", Tears For Fears' "Raoul and the King of Spain", and many more.

Ordinary men hate solitude. But the Master makes use of it, embracing his aloneness, realizing he is one with the whole universe (Lao Tzu).
I meant favorite recording of the 9th. Because, obviously, no two performances are alike and most of the stuff available on cheap "simply the best classical" series and such tend to be garbage. Actually, we don't even know what the compositions originally sounded like or were supposed to sound like, so there's always a lot of creative interpretation going into performance and recording. I don't know much about Beethoven, so I was curious to hear what the best interpretations sound like.
Like for Erik Satie, Aldo Ciccolini is the canonically accepted master but I much prefer Reinbert de Leeuw. If you want Bach, Glenn Gould with The Goldberg Variations is the place to start, etc.
I just got this album the other day. A simply stunning piece from the very first listen. Although, I think I like Hounds of Love better. But then again, I don't know what good for me. I don't know what's good for meeee.
Also, some of my favorite works with reference songs. :3
