They shake your hand and they smile and they buy you a drink
They say we'll be your friends we'll stick with you till the end
But everybody's only looking out for themselves
And you say who can you trust I'll tell you nobody

^ I still don't understand why anyone would want to subject themselves to Krallice. They're devoid of all the good qualities of music in general, like personality for starters. They can play their instruments well but can't write good songs for toffee and their sound is extremely unsatisfying to my ears, neither harsh nor melodic enough. Amongst the most overrated bands of recent years, especially considering they've been around for barely a few years.

I'm not sure why it took me so long to listen to them, but Ephel Duath are great. I get some Maudlin vibes now and then, though they'e certainly more straightforward and consistently heavy than motW. Somebody mentioned them on the previous page, but I gotta add my emphasis on the recommendation too. (And yeah, if you don't know maudlin of the Well, look them up too. LPs about to be re-released.)

Hard to digest, but worth the time you spend listening to it.

Amazing avant band: Rain Delay
They're from Serbia, use rockin male and female vocals, and just released a brilliant album you can download free from their site: HERE.
It's their 3rd album and the first two are amazing also but each very different. They explore with each release and never get stale. Check them out or come awards time you'll wish you had
I checked them out on YT when I saw them on the nominees and loved them. I didn't knew they gave their album for free! Thanks for the heads up
This is such a lovely genre. I think I will never find people around here that might want to form a band and play that style.

Another good band you'd like to check out is Pin-Up Went Down. They mix metal with bits of funk, jazz or even gospel, so almost every song sounds different.

My new band Tattoo the Devil is pretty avant garde, but the singing isn't weird.

hope you dig it!
