So, I was browsing one day through Last.fm, and I find this underground black metal act called Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult, and I coulnd't help but to wonder how on EARTH do you come up with something so lame and wannabe cvlt. I mean seriously... I don't really care if their music is good (and since I hate black metal, for me probably not).

So, got any similar ones to share? Remember, we're talking about lame, stupid names, not how good or bad their music is.

It's not the the name of Rotting Christ is bad, I was just wondering if names like that would hinder their chances of success. But I guess I could be wrong. They are meant to speak to a certain audience and they seem to have sufficient success with that.

True about lame names for metal/death core bands. If a name is suppose to represent a band's sound, they always seem right on the ball.

I think that name would be enough to put a lot of people off. It certainly did have that effect on Dave Mustaine....

But at the end of the day, that whole shenanigan probably got enough publicity for Rotting Christ to make up for what was lost by not being able to play the show...

Thanks.
If anyone find very great album and then look for the name.... and find it lame maybe lamest
and still people avoid it (the album)? of course 8/10 people not. so value the musics not musicians
