Best band name

Mine is Rompeprop (dutch for Torsoclot) . The guys from the band where watching some freak show or something on the tv and there was a lady on it with some huge tumor in the area of her torso and one of the guys screamed "Da's ne grote rompeprop!" (That's a big torsoclot!). It might not appeal to non-dutch speaking people, but it's kinda "funny".

Keeping the LOTR inspiration, I don't know if it already exist but Crissaegrim sounds awesome for a band name.

Satan. In the case of the NWOBHM one, the name simply screams arrogance in the "we are so awesome that we can actually call our band Satan and it still wouldn't be lame in any way" kind of way. And it gets even better when they actually are awesome enough to back it up.

The Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza normally i don't like really long band names but this one is just so awesome and funny! quote from one of the dudes: "Old ladies sometimes show up at our shows waiting for Tony Danza to come out onstage," guitarist Layne Meylain said. "I'm serious, because a lot of times, they'll put on the marquee 'Tony Danza' instead of our full name. So it'll be, like, 'Tony Danza and the Red Chord.' So these old ladies always show up looking for Tony. It's pretty funny. Apparently, old ladies love Danza."
