Yo all.
I am a big fan of Ambient and has ALOT of black ambient albums.
I am looking for even more.
Do you guys know any awesome bands and what black ambient band is your favorite.

My own favorites is Nortt, Darkspace, velvet cacoon, Burzum (of course) and Abruptum. An Negura Bunget ( don't know if the qualifies as being ambient. Om is pretty ambient.)

I suggest Black ambient is renamed to Blambient.

Anyway, I don't want to bitch at ya in one of your first posts, but Nortt, Darkspace, Velvet Cacoon, Negura Bunget and half of Burzum's discography have nothing to do with Dark nor Black Ambient.

My two cents: I used to listen to quite a bit of it, mainly Lustmord, Raison D'etre and something with Pazuzu (maybe just Pazuzu). I got really bored of it, to be honest. I admire the genre's principles, but I often find the execution rather weak and lacking.

I don't think I could ever get bored of Lustmord, the guy's a genius. Pioneered, if not invented, the dark ambient genre (common knowledge but a testament to his skill).

I suggest Wongraven: the side-project of Satyr. Not exactly black, but still ambient.

For dark ambient (bordering on noise/drone), try Ruhr Hunter. Some label it "forest drone"; I dislike labels at large and rather let the music speak for itself.

The first album is rawest, densest, and most terrifying in its feral hunger.
Second album, "Torn of This", is more epic in its minimalism (a paradox but true!), and gives off that uneasy vibe of "otherness" surrounding nature and existence - same spine-crawl that you would get from reading H. P. Lovecraft, for instance... that feel of the world around you being terrifyingly alien, unfamiliar, and disturbingly ancient and primeval. The third album, "Moss and Memory", is more wholesome and harmonic in execution (less creepy but equally meditative and full of zone-out trance inducing passages).

Overall though, this is a rare and very deeply affecting music project that will by turns terrify you, haunt you, and give you something to feed your meditative imagination upon.
A personal project of Chet Scott, who is also behind Blood Of The Black Owl.

Gnaw Their Tongues. Somewhat on the noise side, but has that lovely uneasy atmosphere.

Lol sorry.. I don't get it.

Anyway I don't know if this is Ambient (but I think it is), but heard of Cynestole? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xj5GNfFKTeQ

That Cynestole/Mirkwood split album is damn beautiful, to be honest. Really recommended.
