I find these social networking sites to be a waste of time, although Twitter is better than Facebook, as Facebook is like a human database when you think about it.

I guess I just assumed that, like me, people would have a large chunk of their (real life) friend base on their Twitters. I certainly would never recommend people get one unless they have a few people they know on it. It's fairly ideal for keeping appraised of what's going on in your immediate circle.
Nowadays I only use Facebook to keep up to date with events and arranging stuff with people. I don't update it at all now. Too many people I kind of know but never talk to.

I do have a Twitter account, but I don't use it. I might use it when I buy a smartphone, but then again, I'm definitely not the type that tweets 'woah just took a big dump lol'. I imagine 99% of the time I'll be to lazy to grab my phone and actually type the message.

Aye, unless you have some people that actually read what you put there isn't much point in it. I eventually deleted most the celebrities I followed as they were all pretty boring. I like them but I could less about their children etc.

In other words, it's useless. I have had two accounts and deleted them both not so long time ago when realized I already use an alternative variant of Twitter - it's local, more fun and less crappy.

I don't think I've seen the latter, but some people decide to unite Twitter and Facebook and then their status messages show up twice on my phone, and I fucking hate it.

For years I bashed Twitter because I thought it was pointless (and probably 99% of it is) plus I didn't understand it well. But since I got a tablet, I installed the app and now I find myself following a bunch of actors, comedians, and anyone else I find interesting.
