Who do you think are the most passionate metal singers? Ones who you can tell by listening to them and seeing them, that they are just exuding emotions.

Rob Halford. Just listen to "Beyond The Realms Of Death" and you'll see what I mean.

The warriror brother metal guy from Manowar
NOT.

Hm, I've always considered Floor Jansen to be an extremely passionate singer, giving herself 113% out in the song, any song she sings. Also Anneke Van Giersbergen, in the past with The Gathering she brough a special touch to their songs, and even nowadays when she collaborates with various metal musicians, I always get the feeling she releases herself in the song.

As of guys, I'm not quite sure. I like Johan Hegg, because when he sings I think he sounds like a real viking. I also like Sigurd Wongraven - Satyr, but more than on cd, his live act. I think he's one of the most charismatic frontmans I have seen live, you can really see him blend with music when he's on stage. ICS Vortex is one of those, who I think bringspower and energy alongside his strong vocals in the songs he's singing.

Feels like someone's going to quote you whatever you post here. It's a tough question, never given it much of a thought. Right now at the top of my head I'd probably go with... Mikael Åkerfeldt, maybe? There's a lot of warmth and emotion in his voice, wether it's growl or clean.

He's not fake

I also like Fanisk's vocal. That guy has something different in his growls. Probably it's the production, but it's well done. Typhon from Sterbend and also Trist (Czech) deserves a mention too.

Imo his vocals are as fake and contrived as can be as are the stories about his so-called insanity.

Yeah his stories are unbelievable. I wouldn't call them fake, just unbelievable. But I don't think his vocals are fake. He also does the growls in between the tracks, those are really good.

Surprised nobody has mentioned anyone from Neurosis, unless I missed it.
