what do you imply when write this?
im just sayin' that these "alternative" artists in serbia are still riding the new wave ,although it has been dead for 20 years now...that Mortal Kombat and likes are using the youngsters that want to oppose mainstream cultural crap in serbia today (JK,Grand,...) to gain cheap audience among such people by using cheap lyrics and utterly weak music....
come on ,the "Jelen top 10" is bigger crap than Grand....i suggest that you consider growing out the this " we are holier than thou" attitude and embrace the fact that no matter how much you like some band that its quality is not same as its popularity ...
at the end of the day i dont give the fuck what do you like... i hate that crap...period!

That's exactly how I feel about Mortal Kombat, Seljacka Buna and the like.

Oh yes, and lyrics about Satan, death, despair, angels, demons and depression are profound and pure quality, not to mention original. Try and get name of a band impossible to pronounce like Astragarotgoth and write bunch of weird sentences that they don't even understand, but who cares, listeners won't either but thus far they'll think they're so intelligent while really its just stupid stuff that makes no sense.

Now, I happen to know guys in person and be friends with some for more than 10 years now, used to listen to metal when some of you did not even know what that is, traveled together in trains to other parts of the country to listen to bands with almost no money because we thought its fun, and they do this because they enjoy it and think its fun and so do i, whoever was on any on their concerts fan or not had a great time, since when fun does not matter? Gera did more for Serbian metal scene than most of you ever will, right now even hosting fantastic show at radio 202 promoting young bands all the time, as if he likes all of them, but he knows better than call them cheap crap because he knows some listeners WILL like it and find those bands thanks to him.

Its actually your attitude i find rather mainstream typical TRUE SERBIAN, spit on everything others do without really doing anything yourself, can i hear your bands? please? Jealousy and envy are Serbian sport, i dont hate grand or JK, I could not care less about them, I don't listen to it but I don't hate it, I got no time to waste hating stuff i dislike, I simply don't listen to it, don't comment it and the most importnat don't mock it.

Now the BEST part, one of the Mortal Kombat members is also a member of a band i saw in your profile as a favorite. Case closed about how much you know about ppl you try and degrade and their music. Listening to rock or metal for a 2-3 years does not make you competent enough to wrirte comments as you write, if you don't like it, simply listen and comment what you do like. Thats why I said grow up, but then again, you can beat the man out of a province, but you can't beat a province out of a man.

It's too easy to earn popularity by mocking/criticizing things that are wrong in Serbia, that's all we're saying here. It's similar to Marčelo - people that don't ever think about our political and cultural reality find the things he raps about brilliant, but for the rest of us, it's all the things we know already. And stuff like Mortal Kombat is the same in my eyes. Turbo folk sucks, reality shows suck, this suck, that sucks - tell me something I don't already know and stop trying to gain popularity by singing about things no normal person cares about! They are just giving the bad stuff publicity and winning cheap points with an audience of people that desperately try to make everyone know they're so cool and different by "hating" mainstream media and culture in Serbia. They aren't creating art.

And their music won't ever mean anything to anyone outside of Balkan because they focus on the local. If you want to contribute to the Serbian metal scene, try to make something that matters on a global scale, and something that hasn't been done to death so someone "outside", who's heard more bands than we even have in the country, could appreciate it.

Mora, all of us played or still play in rather popular and well known Serbian bands, some even in bands well known bands outside of Serbia. MK did not need popularity cause all members were already that way before the MK was even formed.

And if you think singing in your OWN language is a problem, its your problem, not MK's. They contributed a lot, we all did over the years, more than people like angel ripper ever will, gave couple of cult bands, hosting radio shows and organising concerts, you're contradicting yourself, on one note you accuse band of being power and fame sluts, while on the other side you say ppl should sing in english just so they can be heard outside, isn't that typicalll sell-out opinion?

You misread me - not in your own language, but about something that would matter to anyone not living in Serbia. This way, it's just dull, whatever the musicians did in other bands, this just comes off as a 15-year-old criticizing the interests of his high school class. They could surely make better use of their talents. We all know what is wrong here in regards to the music scene so we don't need any more "parody" bands. We need quality, relevant, real music to fix the scene.
