As everyone knows about Mikes departure from Dream Theater last September and how a resolution didn't eventuate I was thinking what band would Mike be a valuable addition for ? I believe Fates Warning would be a great band for him to be part of. Mikes style of drumming is what, i believe, Fates Warning could benefit from such a drummer who is more up tempo and aggressive. What are your thoughts ?

Who is going to be the drummer for their upcoming tour anyway? I think that some of the guys in Fates Warning share the same type of personaliy with Portnoy, so there might be some personality clashing...it might not work out...

you're right, i didn't know he wasn't with FW anymore. Bobby Jarzombek is the drummer they collaborated with since 2007 (live shows so far, right?). So i guess he is going to be on the new album they're working on.

Amazing that FW decided to put out a record right after huge releases from OSI and Redemption. I thought Mike would be the obvious choice to join FW...

I personally don't think he should be in Fates Warning. Bobby Jarzombek is doing a fine job and I think Portnoy will probably be a little too out-of-hand and controlling.
