Clawfinger, one of the first and most successfull rapmetal bands were extremely popular in the early 90´s, most of all for their amazing society-critical lyrics

after two very successfull albums they started mixing techno into their music, which already was a mixture of rap and metal

for me they are one of the only bands in this musical direction that i can enjoy, and their lyrics are the best i have ever read, here are the lyrics for their No.1 hit "Nigger" and their song "I Close My Eyes" enjoy

Admittedly Clawfinger do have some good lyrics but come on, a lot of actual RAP bands have much better rhymes. Still, my favorite Clawfinger song is by far Two Sides.

I really like this band, intelligent lyrics, good groove.

And I don't if they were so 'extremely popular', even if their first album (Deaf Dumb Blind) is ther best.
But I prefer them to RATM.
