I see no one has mentioned Black Shape Of Nexus. Absolutely crushing, utterly riff-based sludge (except the Microbarome Meetings album which is pure drone) from Germany. They have a couple of releases available for download on their website, especially the Live in Mannheim tape is devastating. I've given a shot to pretty much their whole discography and you can't go wrong with these guys.
Italy getting in on any metal genre usually signifies the end of that genre's creative peak.
Lol, a bit harsh Troy? I have to dig deep but I think there are only a few "good" Italian post bands out there...Sunpocrisy, Three Steps To The Ocean , and this one.
Man, it feels so good to just chill out and relax to this...warning not very metal at all...it's more like indie post rock. http://kwau.bandcamp.com/releases
Oh yes totally. The Sunbather one is beautiful, but it only uses one element of hipsterness: a Didot-like font. This has the total package, Futura in caps and wide spacing, random squiggly thin lines, a triangle inside another random geometric shape and a B&W photo with a skull. This is like a definition of hipster.

There is a pretty sad story behind this album, the music and song titles explain a lot...

You forgot the white frame.
Shame about what happened indeed... But I can't say I liked his stuff. :/
