I think you're misinterpreting my point. I'm saying that for something to be qualified as djent, all that is required is the tone combined with staccato notes whereas there's a lot more to be qualified as math.

Ok, I did misinterpret that point. But I will counter that with another "not necessarily" and "only ignorant people think that".

I can think of 4 bands off hand who employ that tone and are not considered "djent": Meshuggah (THE inspiration for the entire movement), After The Burial, Octopus and Pomegranate Tiger.

Honestly to my ears they don't have the "djent" sound in the slightest. Totally different. They shouldn't have ended up in the awards for that cat.

Neither After The Burial nor Pomegranate Tiger have a djent tone - deathcore and "normal" tones respectively Octopus has clear djent moments, but they don't dominate the music so calling them djent would be like calling Ihsahn black metal. Likewise, Meshuggah has myriad other styles, but there is djent whether people like it or not

Anyone have any comments on Alarum requiring a fusion tag? Just listen to the song below.

I think we need to change the name of random to Los Random, as the band itself uses this name on FB and bandcamp. I dont know why MS and MA use random instead.

Fixed. Not sure why, all of the band's official pages clearly state Los Random as the band name. :/

So back to business: Sunpocrisy's latest record doesn't sound very death metal to me - here's the band's Bandcamp. Sounds like progressive post-metal to me. Atmospheric sludge is pretty much post-metal, no? Also could someone address Alarum?

Always funny to see k7 bragging about points. What he doesn't tell you is how many of those edits needed to be fixed after due to all kinds of spelling and grammatical errors.

As for genre tags, I'll try to look into this thread more. I keep saying that and putting it off but that's only because it's at the bottom of my priority list, especially since the majority of these suggestions appear to be either unnecessary or irrelevant in the case of invisible profiles.

styles fixed, album marked to removed, but dude, you could fix better, as mark to delete that demo and this one (ep what has img, fix to demo and take away fake songs)
