Well, the album style feature is a new thing - started not that long ago and hence the lack of consistency.

So...where do we draw the line between whether a band has a consistent style or not? A certain percentage of their discography? Certain number of albums?

Usually, unless the band does a total switch in genres, from black metal to gothic or something like that, the main genre of the band should stay the same. Most of the bands have one or two albums which are off, and to be honest, it's usually not the entire album, but rather a song or two, or there are other sounds incorporated which are out of the norm for them.
So, before you change the entire genre tag of the band, make sure they REALLY totally switch over to a new one. Like ALL the songs on the album are genre x and not just 'well, but the second song sounds gothic to me'.

Makes sense. Carbonized is hard to categorise. There's not much more we can do to clean up their profile.

Kreator is best example thrash is main genre and 2 was like gothic
Opeth in last 2 -3 albums band seems turn to pure prog rock sound and goes away from old genre and seems in those cases we simply add new genre and keep old ...might put back old if thet next album be like old school

if the two demos were DM then leave it like this in the profile to reflect it. ARE they now pure power metal? If so then those other styles make no sense "thrash heavy metal" no such thing and power heavy metal .... hmmm. They are either heavy metal or power metal - pick one.

I dunno, I was using it as example . I don't know so much band, but IMO those genres are good ... but what I mean is example when demow as like X and after demo only Y genre

Additional style suggestion for Oddland:

2010- Math metal or Avantgarde metal

While rooted in fairly traditional prog, Oddland innovatively use Meshuggah style polymeters. It's also extensive enough to warrant an additional style tag. It all comes down to how Math metal is generally understood, Oddland use virtually no harsh vocals for example. Wikipedia articles on Meshuggah tend to describe them either experimental or avantgarde.

Someone should probably take a look at The Contortionist's profile. They're down as progressive deathcore but at some point they went on to play more ambient / progressive metal instead.

I'm only familiar with their latest album so I don't know either. I'm guessing they haven't been deathcore for a while though.

Our ex-bandmember Willem doesn't / didn't play in The Sin Committee.

Preferred would be to name Miranda just Miranda, since we don't use our complete names, and Vandervoot is not her correct surname.

In the timeline the line-up Daan - guitar, Jack - drums, Deef - vocals, bass, Miranda - bass is incorrect and did never exist. The line-up Daan - guitar, vocals, Jack - drums, Miranda - bass exists since album II.

Trivia, one thing worth mentioning is that our bass player Miranda played bass guitar from December 1999 until August 2000 for Dutch retrorockband 7Zuma7, in their final line-up.

Just noticed something else. The first line-up was with three guitars
Daan - guitar
Jack - drums
Deef - vocals, guitar
Miranda - bass
Willem - guitar

When Miranda left for 7Zuma7 Deef went from vocals, guitar to vocals, bass.

I took over the vocals when we started doing gigs again in April 2008, after Deef had left the band in November 2007. For some time late 2007-early 2008 we rehearsed without vocals, 'cause we weren't sure if we would get a different singer.

Hope it's all clear now, but let me now if otherwise.

but I don't think this is case, so Edge of sanity split up in 2003 and seems for ever, so maybe style years can be to end as well ?

Perhaps post-black wasn't the most appropriate tag, but I think it's more credible than avant-garde.

Since Obtained Enslavement's 1st album and earlier demos aren't symphonic black, could they get changed to black metal up until 95/96/97 (not sure when the change occurred, somewhere between albums). Also the 92 demo sounds rather death/blackened death, although someone should probably double check that as I don't really trust my judgement with identifying death metal.

It's hard to categorise these guys into a refined style, since they're all over the place. Post-metal, fusion, tech death, and prog death are also quite prevalent styles in their writing
