Lacuna Coil - Begins Recording New Album

Italian melodic metal band Lacuna Coil has entered the studio to begin recording the as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2009's Shallow Life for a fall release via Century Media Records. The band is once again working with producer Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Bullet For My Valentine), this time choosing to record in its native Italy to help focus on the more personal nature of the new material.

Bathory - Limited-Edition Vinyl Box Set Due In July

Black Mark has set a July 18th UK release date for a limited-edition Bathory vinyl box set. The collection, which is being released in honor of the band's late mastermind Quorthon, contains the following: Three double gatefold LPs, 48-page booklet, Bathory "Goat" poster (70x100cm), Picture-disc recreation of the original Bathory "yellow goat" 1984 pressing of the band's debut album. Unexpect - Fables Of The Sleepless Empire Album Listening Party

The new Unexpect album Fables Of The Sleepless Empire is expected to drop on May 31st. The band will be hosting a listening session at the Cafe Chaos, in Montréal, QC, Canada on Thursday May 26th, from 5PM to 7PM. For the occasion, the album will be available to buy as a pre-release exclusive and the band will be present all evening to chat. More album details were previously reported over here.

Euroblast Festival - First Bands Announced

First names for the djent/progressive themed 7th edition of Euroblast Festival have been announced. Confirmed names so far include Textures, Chimp Spanner, The Algorithm, Cyclamen, Panzerballett, Devastating Enemy, SubVerSi0N, Disconcrete and Afekth. The festival will take place in Cologne, Germany on October 21st-22nd. More info available at this location.

Tristania - Headlining Out Of The Dark Festival Tour

Tristania will embark on the Out Of The Dark Festival Tour, taking place in late September and October throughout Europe. Support will come from Van Canto, ReVamp, Xandria and Amberian Dawn.

Gorod - New EP Details Revealed

Gorod have decided to release its brand new EP Transcendence on its own label Bud Records. Transcendence will only be available at the band's shows and on the forthcoming Gorod online shop (available in June). The EP will hit iTunes later this year.

The Black Dahlia Murder - New Song Online

"Conspiring With The Darkness", a new track from US melodic death metal band The Black Dahlia Murder, has been made available for streaming exclusively at Lambgoat. "Conspiring With The Darkness" comes off the band's upcoming new album, Ritual, which will be released on June 21th via Metal Blade Records. More album details were previously reported over here.

Agreed. Although the Cynic cover should be interesting...

In other news, that new Unexpect album is just what I need this year. I haven't heard many interesting avant-garde records so far.
