Kazuyoshi Miura: World's oldest footballer extends stay with Oliveirense

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/66171076

wow he is insane I hope he manage to 60

It makes you wonder how many years Ronaldo and messi have left in them. Playing in the leagues they're in, and going on their fitness levels atm I can see them being able to carry on into their mid 40s. Maldini played top level football well into his 40s so why not?

Yes but he play in Portugal , he can do at domestic league or tier 3 in Europe easily, but Messi and Ronaldo cant accept play in Ososunna or Celtic Glasgow

MLS is probably the standard equivalent of the Scottish League nowadays, I think Messi could maybe handle a few seasons there if he chose to play for Celtic, and he would be guaranteed a trophy or two, but I would rather he play for Rangers, he might just help knock Celtic off their pedestal. That ain't ever gonna happen though, he won't earn enough money.

I mean they wont accept less pay and weaker teams. Messi could survive in Championship 6 years, Ronaldo in English tier 3 10 years.

AEK vs Dinamo was postponed because of heavy riots where Bad Blue Boys and Gated 13 crew attacked and wanted brake in in AEK stadion where Original 21 start defend own ground. One AEK greek was stabbed and died, few hospitalized. Like 100 croats arrested on scene , few in hotel, few on border way home.
They crossed Greece and Albania border.
Even in EU countries can start border control in accessions, Albania is not in EU , Greeks could close border and arrest all croats who wanted enter by cars. One Lithuanian team vs Polish team, when they play Lithuanians close border between and stop all buses, cars whit PL registration number and search them, Few football boys was late to game, few was busted for weapons, pyro. But after riots there ha sno been riots in Lithuania when they play polish teams. It can be done here, to prevail event.
But question is can UEFA band teams for riots what happened many hours before game ? Can they?
I want hear UEFA reaction since Greek and Croat clubs are not saints , Dinamo and Hajduk has many suspended penalties, they even can be kicked out from UEFA one year or one year behind closed doors. I can not wait to see UEFA comments.
One people died, yes but if person would chace and riot, sit at home and play PC or do facebooking it wont happen. People choose they way at life, it was case here. Now what will happen whit arrested croats, what will happen if they go to the jail in Greece? Who can prove who stabbed? Can ultras whiteness testimony be good, what happens whit boys who rat out?
What a waist of life, waist your life whit football fanatism.

Positive: I am watching to female WC in NZ, Ausie. I like attendance and interest there by locals. 2023 should be play in Uruguay. But I hope Ausie and NZ whill make 2034 or 2038 male WC together. They deserve it!!!! Last 2 WC was plaid in places who should never get it, and now 2030 Saudies wants it, well sorry Australia and NZ is million times better country as Saudi. Budweiser I hope they learned lesson about Qatar and stop finace FIFA. Just saying, who wants live there anyway?

Boca's Chocolate Box is one of my favorite stadiums, it will be criminal to replace such an amazingly unique looking stadium.

Luton's stadium at Kenilworth Road is having problems meeting the requirements for the Premier League so they could end up having a new stadium, which is a shame because it's a good old fashioned stadium with character and a great atmosphere. You just know they'll end up with a soulless bowl like the rest of them, but that's the way it is nowadays. I like what Liverpool have done, instead of building a new stadium, they have upgraded Anfield, and it looks terrific.

So group stages are here, another good year for UEFA , might need some thinking because Saudies are steeling our players.
I post in order as I think teams will end

Champions Leuage

Group A: Bayern (GER), Man United (ENG), / Copenhagen (DEN), / Galatasaray (TUR)
I think this is how it will be, hard group but I see Bayern on the run here

Group B: Sevilla (ESP), Arsenal (ENG),/ PSV Eindhoven (NED), / Lens (FRA)
Seville is good best here, Arsenal to, but Lens comes from good league but not that best team, I think PSV is better

Group C: Real Madrid (ESP),Napoli (ITA) / Union Berlin (GER)/ Braga (POR),
Real is hard ball, Napoli to but tricky they need few years in CL. Not that best German team, but I hope they ends 3th

Group D: Inter (ITA) ,Benfica (POR), / Salzburg (AUT), Real Sociedad (ESP)
No doubt Inter is fav, but Salzburg is hard nut toe be able end 3th. Real S are not so good ,

Group E: Atlético Madrid (ESP), Lazio (ITA)(, Feyenoord (NED), / Celtic (SCO)
Good European nights in Celtic park but I say there be only 3 of them. Sad.

Group F: Paris (FRA), Dortmund (GER), / Milan (ITA), Newcastle (ENG)
Well Ger, It duels, I see that Dortmund do this time, that send Inter to tier 2

Group G: Man City (ENG), Leipzig (GER), / Crvena zvezda (SRB),/ Young Boys (SUI)
Well we will see but I think its be like this

Group H: Barcelona (ESP), Porto (POR), / Shakhtar Donetsk (UKR), Antwerp (BEL)
Ukraians are hard boys even now , they show they can bite to big teams

Atlético Madrid (ESP), Lazio (ITA)

A: Freiburg / West Ham / Olymopuacos / Fudbalski klub TSC
Another funny Serbian team and Delije will be 70% of home cround there

B: Marseille, / AEK / Ajax / Brighton & Hove Albion
Anarkist brothers in one group I hate both team fans. I hope Brighton & Hove Albion will impress but I doubt so

C: Real Bettis / Rangers / AEL Limassol / Sparta
This tike Ibrox park will see more UEFA nights I think they are best as Celtic in UEFA this year

D: Atalanta / Sporting / Raków Częstochowa / Sturm Graz
Pols will impress and good away madness, Atalanta will do good job

E: Liverpool / Union Saint-Gilloise / Toulouse/ LASK Linz
Liverpool will win whole deal if they had luck whit Spanish teams later

F : Maccabi Haifa / Panathikos / Rennes / Villareal
Jewish has good standards last year they do big thinks this is where they can do better.

G: Sherrif / Roma / Slavia / Servette
Roma is weird whit luck only they manage be second

H: Bayer / Molde / Quarabak / Häcken
Why almost always we get Danish ro Norwegian team it piss me off this time wont happen luck as in Aberdeen

Europa Conference League

Group A: LOSC Lille (FRA), / Slovan Bratislava (SVK),/ Olimpija Ljubljana (SVN), / KÍ Klaksvík (FRO)
Its be fun travel to Farao islands

Group B: Maccabi Tel-Aviv (ISR), / Gent (BEL), / Zorya Luhansk (UKR), Breidablik (ISL)
Another funy game in Iceland, maybe our friend Yaniv will travel to away game, anyway Maccabi Tel-Aviv (ISR), might be first Izreli team who wins UEFA trophy

Group C: Viktoria Plzeň (CZE), / Astana / (KAZ) /Dinamo Zagreb (CRO), , Ballkani (KOS)
BBB banned for one season to away games, sad because to Kosovo would be funny trip. I dont see Dinamo out of group here

Group D: Club Brugge (BEL), / Bodø/Glimt (NOR),/ Beşiktaş (TUR), Lugano (SUI)
Nja Bodö can suoprise again

Group E: AZ Alkmaar (NED) / , Aston Villa (ENG), / Legia Warszawa (POL), Zrinjski (BIH)
Good away support from Legia if no ban and Zrinski. Aston Villa is to well needs more UEFA games,. thats why AZ goes 1th

Group F: Ferencváros (HUN), / Fiorentina (ITA), / Genk (BEL), Čukarički (SRB)
Why this year Serbs has funny teams in UEFA? Fio after last year they underestimate, Italians are good to see to others from the high, so thats why they be 2.end

Group G: Frankfurt (GER), PAOK (GRE),/ HJK Helsinki (FIN), / Aberdeen (SCO)
One favorite. PAOK away fans ? HJK might kick some ass, it wont be easy games in Aberdeen and Helsinki, Germans and Greeks must buy winter clouths, real winter

Group H: Fenerbahçe (TUR), / Ludogorets (BUL),/ Spartak Trnava (SVK), Nordsjælland (DEN)
'Nja

Now many top- tier players drafting to Saudi for $ as CR7 opened the gates to once drab-y shallowy school janitors filled Saudi club teams, so the Saudi League flexing it to mention in UEFA.

If only UEFA kept the legacy of the European league, and not succumbing to $, it would throw a different shade on the world leagues.

VfB Stuttgart are on fire this season! After 5 games, and 4/5 wins, they are first in the Bundesliga table! They play really well and they've got a goal scoring machine: Serhou Guirassy, who has scored now 10 goals in the first 5 games of the Bundesliga season. Only ONE other player has done that before: Robert Lewandowski!

PS: I used to live in Stuttgart, actually. I grew up in that area as a kid. Stuttgart were never that good back then. I'm glad to see them surprising this season. I'll be following their progression eagerly

I mainly like watching Bundesliga games because of the atmosphere. I would really like to go and watch a Dortmund game just to experience the yellow wall, especially when they play Schalke, the atmosphere looks breathtaking. You don't get atmosphere's like that in the UK anymore.

Yes it's true, but even Saudi and Marocese football has atmosphere, Egypt as well.

What is the Swiss Model in Champions League? UEFA's new UCL format to replace group stage explained

https://www.sportingnews.com/us/soccer/news/swiss-model-champions-league-uefa-debut-ucl-format-group-stage/a2d1e16bb0f0d24b364d4db4

I dont like it, make probably to make stronger teams to play in play off stage, because smaller teams start win they want big teams play big games. Soon CL might be as USA best of 7 even in final, we will see what sport fans say, its let down.

Yes but maybe it wont work, they might change it back. To me its more like super league, small teams will loose, but then again TV and ticket sails, big teams like Italians dont care much about tier 2 and 3 in UEFA

Well, VAR fucked up royally yesterday. Liverpool deserved to draw against Tottenham. To quote the legendary Didier Drogba: "It's a fucking disgrace."

I can't be bothered to look up statistics right now, but I know from memory that the EPL title has been decided by a single point several times in the last few decades. If Liverpool lose the title over this fuck-up, then nobody should ever ask Klopp to be calm ever again, let the man rage. I don't even like Liverpool, but I like blatant injustice even less.

Not I can think of anyone here since I joined MS.

Well, Arsenal playing significantly great this year. Started well like last year, and one Group stage game won't invalidate the gameplay. I don't think losing to Lens will pinch them either as Ligue 1 15th seeder is doing great too.

On the contrary, Manchester United is shitting bricks. Losing to Galatasaray was awful. Erik Ten Fag needs to fix it before he takes an exit from Old Trafford.

Not a fan of Arsenal, but I was glad they won against Manchester City today, because the refereeing was once again atrocious and Kovacic should've been sent off in the first half. He committed a red card foul, followed immediately by a certain yellow card foul. I have no clue as to why he escaped with just a yellow card.

True, but then refereeing has gone preposterous from so many seasons. VAR often comes into a fairplay to salvage inadequate goal decisions too.

What impresses me(match against City) is Declan Rice performance as a solid midfielder. With 89% accuracy, and 3 classic interceptions, he prove to be the real asset for Arsenal.
