Opeth - Rehearsing With New Keyboardist, First US Tour Dates With Katatonia Confirmed

According to the French edition of Rock Hard magazine, keyboard player Joakim Svalberg (Yngwie Malmsteen, Glenn Hughes) has been rehearsing with Swedish progressive metallers Opeth for the past few weeks - but has not yet been made an official member of the band. You can expect an official announcement imminently.

Keyboardist Per Wiberg, who joined Opeth back in 2005, was relieved of his duties in April as part of a mutual decision with the remaining members of the band.

In other news, Opeth will embark on a seven-week North American headlining tour in support of the forthcoming album, Heritage.Taking place in September/October, the tour will also feature Katatonia. A complete list of confirmed dates looks as follows: (thanks to Vykintas)

I m not a big fan of this band as bands like Behemoth, Morbid, Death etc are far better than this!

That was definitely an off-topic spam comment. There's nothing wrong with thinking that, but that is simply an inopportune, irrelevant comment for this thread.

Anyways, I'm wondering if I can make a gig in the midwest somewhere.
