Mastodon - Album Trailer Online

Atlanta progressive metallers Mastodon will release their new upcoming album, The Hunter, this October through Reprise Records. Check out a taste of what's to come below. The one-minute trailer contains a snippet of the track "Black Tongue".

The Hunter was recorded at Doppler Studios in the band's hometown of Atlanta as well as in Los Angeles with producer Mike Elizondo. As with all of their albums, Mastodon decided to take a completely different tack and musical approach to the music on this album. The band feels confident that fans will be excited and fulfilled by what they will hear.

Mastodon recently revealed more song titles for The Hunter. Tracks set to appear on the band's follow-up to 2009's Crack The Skye include: "The Hunter: All The Heavy Lifting", "Dry Bone Valley", "Blasteroids", "The Octopus Has No Friends", "Stargasm", and "Curl Of The Burl".

The Octopus Has No Friends - that's a cool song title. The trailer got me quite excited, and I'm looking forward to October.

Consider all my doubts confirmed. Unless, this is just the least interesting track on the album, this sound for them has no edge or power. I really hope the rest of the album is stronger than this. But, I guess this is what happens when you join a major label and use a pop/hip hop producer..........
