Listened to a Hercules album (the new one). Wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. Definitly needs a better singer, though. Parts of it made me think of a lower grade Isengarde playing power metal.
I literally have my own private access to a surf break so I would never get anything done working from home, in fact I had the dy off the other day to do some renovation and spent half of the day surfing

My uncanny lvl. 68 telepathy skill tells me that a lot of people are going to hate this album. Deathcore haters almost certainly will. Same with those fanatical electro purists you encounter on your internet radio site of choice (you know, the "Skrillex = homostep" guys). Take some pretty simple techno tunes and mix them with some pretty generic deathcore, and that's a solid enough description of The Browning's new album. Commencing back pat right now.
Woohoo!!! Can't wait for this release. Best Trancecore band out there imo...I wonder if Standing and Time are the same as the EPs or if they changed them up at all...
Trance is about the only electronic genre I personally cannot stand. However this turns out to be a decent and interesting mix. Going with a 7 so far, but if it ages well, I might even go higher.
To be honest, I actually agree to some extent. Don't like this band and their blend of trance and metal. I'm not too optimistic about it's prospects in general either. Having said that, I still find it better than MA's latest. That one was just a rude shock to my system.

I think that's what makes this album even worse for me. I heard over and over about how bad the latest MA was, and then I checked it out and realized the majority was right.
Then I see a positive review for this, positive YOUTUBE comments (which don't hold any merit I know, but still), and then our own ruthless MS users whispering sweet nothings on the album thread.
Then I checked it out and just fucking laughed. I honestly can't see how anyone sees anything good in this. I mean I despise the latest CoB and My Dying Bride and a lot of other crap, but I can still understand why some people might like those albums...but not this. It's arguably worse than that stupid Eternal September band or whatever that I reviewed back in the day.

[sarcasm font]Maybe if you guys would get your trve kvlt heads out of your frostbitten asses, you'd realize that this is a genius album. An eclectic mix of styles that at first seems to lack cohesion, but ends up being a brilliant display of what the future of extreme music could hold. Close minded haters are close minded.[/sarcasm font]
QFT.
I gave it a 4... and after more listens I gave it a 3. I don't think it'll go lower because when they are not trying to be metal there are some half-baked decent/mediocre trance that saves this piece of shit from being a 2 for me. I wouldn't give it a 1 though... "worst ever" is too much of a title just as much as a perfect 10. I'm yet to listen to something so offensive to earn a 1.
Avoid like the plague, indeed.

Seriously. I mean, I'm a sucker for electro-metal fusion, so I'm not prejudiced in any way. This one, though... I'll pass.
Pretty tasty stuff, here. Deathcore for the dance clubs looks horrid in print, but this shit ain't half bad.
I don't like dance music at all, but from the scathing comments Ive seen here and in the review thread, I was expecting far worse. It's not my thing at all really, but if that song is an indicator of the whole album's sound, then giving it a 1 would be overly harsh. Even Waking The Cadaver's horrendous debut would get a 2 from me, or a 3 if I was being very generous, and this isn't quite as bad as that!
Written by Marcel Hubregtse on 11.10.2011 at 13:14 IMO The Browning is far worse.
Hmm.. maybe compared to WTC's 2nd album, which while still far from great was quite a bit better than the debut, it's worse. But WTC's debut is one of the worst albums I've ever heard. Okay, the only Anal Cunt album I've heard was even worse, but I don't even think that's meant to be music, so I'm not sure if I should count that...
If you took away the -core aspects of this, which are wholly incompatible with everything else, this would be pretty listenable on a cheese-fest level. Far from the worst thing ever though.
Stick with HORSE The Band in the future though, similar in many ways but far better.
My my my... Next time I read a positive review about something I know nothing about, I'll read the comments before listening. Cause this almost killed both my ears and rip my brain in two. Please, anyone who reads this, do yourself a favor and don't listen to this, its for the greater good. I mean, you might die of it.

Pwahahaha!!! I posted the exact video in the funny stuff from the internet section. I guess everyone has their own tastes in "music". If you want good integration of electronic and core I strongly suggest listening to Heaven Shall Burn instead of this Browning piece.

When it gets going, this isn't sooooooo bad. But TBH the breakdowns really are the most annoying thing. They ruin most of the songs... too many of them and too boring. Reminds me of when I was forced to stand through a set by Unearth to hear Chimaira aftwerwards, f**king awful...
They're called 'The Browning'? lmao. In any event, the two genres just don't work well together here. Blood Stain Child manages to mix death metal and techno, so I know it works. They just need to find a good balance...and maybe change their name.

I think this could have been half decent if deathcore elements were replaced with death metal. Would have been a nice change from generic plastic modern DM (and still better than MA ). Some of the keyboard parts are actually catchy... but it ends up being shit with all the rest.
