According to the MS archives a few from North Africa: Tunisia, Egypt And South Africa has 1, which you have said doesn't count, so there you go. Heaps from the Middle-East and quite a few from Asia though. Come on Africa lets see you guys make some more music.

I have heard some 10 South Africa bands also Arab Medieterania bands but never from other Africa regions, MA say there is but I never tryd it , maybe one day I will

The only bands I know are from North Africa like from Tunisia, Morocco, and Algeria.

So I'm noticing that lots of people had input, a few from this country a few from that country. Some even said they know of South African bands despite the creator not caring about South African bands. Only 1 person actually listed some names...I myself only know of 1 african band named Scarab, from Egypt, they play brutal death metal.

Myrath (tunisia) are excellent, kind of power metal but with mideastern scales and drumming. their last album "Tales from the Sands" is worth a listen. at the risk of embarrassing myself among srs bzns metal fans, it sits for me somewhere between opeth and hammerfall, but arabic. Wrust (botswana) sound great on youtube, but i've looked and looked and never found an album to buy.
