Darkthrone - Ravishing Grimness Album To Be Re-Released

As it was reported here, Peaceville Records is releasing new editions of classic Darkthrone albums.

After Panzerfaust, it is now the time of Ravishing Grimness to be re-released as a double-disc set on September 5th. This new edition includes a bonus disc featuring commentary from Fenriz and Nocturno Culto describing their inspirations, as well as memories from the time of recording.

Here is the new art cover:

I'd like to get this shit just for the commentary. Gylve was entertaining in Until the Light Takes Us and he's got a lot of knowledge about the early black metal scene.

What is the commentary with an album? Is it the band talking about the songs while it plays in the background, like movie comentery? (I've got commentry with my copy of Epicus Doomicus Metallicus, but I havn't listened to it yet.)

Definitely getting this. I have the rereleases of Panzerfaust and Total Death with the commentaries, and both the guys are pretty funny with some interesting stories about the songs.
M C Vice - yes, that's exactly what the format will be.is.
Artwork is far better as well - it was actually done by a fan.

Think I'm gonna buy this just for the artwork

But, are they skipping Total Death?

I hope they do Hate Them... with badass artwork.

I don't think that Total Death was skipped; I read on Wikipedia that this treatment was given to that album.

What do you do when you run out of ideas for a new album?
Why, re-record old ones, of course. Fo' shizzle.

where does it say it is re-recorded? It is re-release with commentary added, that is certainly different to re-recording an album

Blame your teachers for you being illiterate

Btw I think it is re-released because these albums are hard to come by nowadays.

They have done the same with Total Death
I agree with you too! I would love to see Hate Them with a badass artwork that goes with the name of the album.

I only like the title track on this record. Sardonic Wrath was much better record.

He's just saying that should they run out of material, it'd be cool to re-record old albums, although ironically I'd rather not hear a re-recording of A Blaze in the Northern Sky... that album is perfect as is. But Gorgoroth was right to re-record Under the Sign of Hell.

I think they also re-released older albums (Goatlord?) - is it worth it? I mean - did they improve sound?
