Nowadays I am tryin' to select progressive rock/metal masterpieces of (mostly) 70's and 80's and I wanna make a good compilation album. There are many legendary bands like Yes,Rush,Genesis,ELP,Camel,Caravan,Jethro Tull,Pink Floyd,Uriah Heep,.. It is a very complex work and I need help from the Metalstormers. I am longing for your favourite songs and reccomandations.

Queensryche for sure. Stuff from the origianl Operation Mindcrime album. I'd say the Empire album but that was a '90s release technically. So, OM it is.

well you still can't go wrong with King crimson's "Court of the Crimson King", Just listen to the song Epitaph.

I 've only selected "Dancing With the Moonlit Knight" from Genesis yet. I will try some King Crimson and Yes now. Child In Time from Deep Purple would be a good selection too.

I listened that track yesterday first time in my life.It sounds good I will give the song some chance. I know that it's considered among classics.

There is no need to talk about Rush..they are the pioneers of the genre and my 2nd favourite band after Iron Maiden. We can add any Rush track from any album to our list..
Considering some less known prog bands will add dept to the compilation

Ok... now go with Kaipa (!!!), The Moody Blues, Pendragon (!!!). Estradasphere, Magic Pie and Anglagard would be well fitting also but it's in/after the 90's...
