Extreme German funeral doom with a curious "Moby Dick" theme. Ahab, is big, angry, grizzled and reflects the desolation and brutality of the sea. Their current releases include a single, a demo, and a CD (The Stream (2004), The Oath (2005) and The Call of the Wretched Sea (2006), respectively).

an mp3 ("The Stream" from the respective single):

Im not sure about the quality of The Stream, but at least let it give you an idea.

GET THE CALL OF THE WRETCHED SEA IMMEDIATELY.

I'm surprised since our main news contributor is a fan of them on Facebook as well and I only heard about the album when I looked for it on Google to answer your question.

PS I stalk everyone. You aren't special.

Do it. I already added the album in their discography. More people should be aware of this. Fans will appreciate it.

This would make a perfect poster, never that I have heard something that approached the nautical theme in the brilliantly artistic way that they do, capturing both the terrifying madness of the ocean in the debut and the more melancholic solitary feel in the sophomore. I'm more than psyched about The Giant

Exactly. the epitome of real sheer innovation comes from the fact that when they sorrowfully starts their every intro and gradually moves upbeat with heavy atrocious riffs, dark bludgeoning drumming which makes the whole scene quite frantic and enjoyable. They need some more kick ass recognition to get their fans trillions of multiplication.

I do dare. I honor their health by telling them to put on a goddamn raincoat.

I have high hopes for this as they seem to take the same approach they took in The Divinity of Oceans

So I'm listening to a lot of Ahab lately, their new album got me back listening to metal after a long break, have been listening to all of their albums in the last few weeks. Any similar bands to Ahab what would Ahab's fans you suggest?
