I have a same shit, pitty but I cant deal whit it, maybe one day here I will wtrite but , most I hate stupid and concervative ppl, like my fucking bitch mother, if I could I would fake my dead, pitty I cant do like in movies .... Most people find it very helpful to have someone they can talk to about what's bothering them, which is part of why I like internet forums so much. Makes it easy to find someone cool to talk to when you think you have no one there in real life or feel like you're surrounded by stupid or boring people who can't possibly relate to you.
Moving back in with parents after living alone for school was one of the most stressful experiences I dealt with and many people my age agree. It would make me miserable for at least a month or two. So I can imagine things are very difficult for you.

Yea, that sounds kind of similar to how I was when I moved back home... Always felt really stressed out and frustrated, because I was used to living my way and doing things on my own time instead of being told what to do and being forced to follow someone else's agenda. The stress and frustration usually turned into depression since there was no one I could talk to about it. When I was forced to live at home again permanently (like I've been doing for the past 2 years), I found that things fell into place. Eventually there was some middle ground that me and my parents could agree on when it came to things like what time I had to be home or when I had to help out around the house, and I got used to living at home again especially since there is some logic behind parents' rules most of the time. I'm sure it also helped that I tried to avoid being home. I spent a lot of time hanging around at school and tried to get out almost every weekend.

Well in sweden where social walfare was HIGHt standart , because of fucking nazie goverment many ppl at age 35 needs go to påarents house and eat ... because they lost jobs and need to study agan and in summer no money from CSN (what pay students) so....

No, I don't suffer from depression but I've seen what it can do. It's really sad.

I have suffered depression all my life and have been to all sorts of psychologist and crap also been on anti depressants since about 18 (i'm still trying to come off them, it's a cunt!) and...this is going to sound cheesy and very hippyish, but i have been reading this book "the mindful way through depression" and doing the meditations it say's to do by that weird jon Kabat-zinn dude and...fuck it really works quite fuckin well !

I always said and I'm saying it again: Most musicians just make music out of their musical knowledge and creativity,nothing more,they don't make depressive black metal because they feel depressed,or they don't make doom metal metal because because they feel doomed, majority of them are like actors/actresses on stage doing their jobs.

BTW depression sounds funny in comparison to things I felt,the sadness I felt has no name no more, I can't describe it,I can't give a clear description or give it an exact name,I just know it's there wearing me away

NZ was the 13th and U.S.A 18th...though
NZ has one of the highest suicide rates of any developed western country.??? We have had a major natural disaster in our second biggest city though. You wouldn't have heard about it overseas but that massive drama is still going on, people still living in there cars and fucked up houses and etc.
But i think the isolation down here gets to a lot of people subconsciously.

what country doesn't, hell you can get diagnosed with depression if you sharted yourself at work these days

To say how musicians fit in is a little different. You can't tell if they're "really" depressed or not if you don't know them personally. Take this for example: In Mourning folks said they're not depressed or very sad people, they just like the melancholy because it gives them an energy and inspiration to write music. On the other hand, there are attention whores, drama queens and so on in this scene. So you can't really prove a musician is truly depressed or not.

And frankly, I don't really give a damn about it because depression exists since many people can't withstand the pressure they feel in their lives. Anxiety, depression, stress, they're very common in everyday life.

I was saying all they do with their music is planned beforehand,it's not an overflow of emotions because of some depression condition in their own personal life,on the whole their own experiences can give them some hints for making something, but mostly the music they make has nothing to do with their own personal life.For example an actor who has the role of a criminal in a movie,is a criminal in real life too ? That's what I'm trying to say.

The people who haven't faced the depression themselves can't get the harshness of it at all, and the whole negative impacts that it would have on an individual's life.So they always try to make statements such as they're not strong enough,they're too sensitive or things like that,but nah dude ! It's not that easy to a give definite answer to things related to mental problems of humanity. And oh if you don't give a damn,what are you doing on this thread ? !! and even bothered to say something on what you don't give a damn !!!

And ok we don't know the musicians in person,but do you know all the people battling with depression in person ? And you gave an immediate and likely improper theory about that bigger population this easy ! Because in this mad world there are big numbers of people who are in that situation whether they're weak or strong like you who don't give a damn !

Also I don't give an immediate and likely improper "theory" about that bigger population you mentioned. I've known a lot of people because it's my business to interact in an environment that's big enough to see different people and that's just the way I see things from where I live. I don't live in an isolated country and I have daily conversations with other people from different cultures and countries. So next time, get your facts straight instead of blasting someone like a nut-job. If you wanna have a debate going on, let's have one by listening to each other first.

PS: as far as I remember, the very reason we have great albums like "Light of Day, Day of Darkness" , "Ki", "Face Value", "A Deeper Kind of Slumber" is because of those very personal issues. It's because they have already mentioned that it was part of their lives. These are the well-known examples in the music world. On the other hand, just because other musicians are very conservative regarding personal lives and issues, there's no proof whether they're influenced by their personal experiences or not.

It's a different experience once you move into the big picture. Internet isn't always the best place to get to know other people. I was born in Iran and I moved to Dubai in 2008 and obviously there IS a difference.

Also if you find that offensive, so should I. Since I'm part of that 70 million Iranians who have no idea what's going on in the world.

because unlike you I don't feel that much angry when I'm having a debate on the internet and I wanna have a debate instead of acting like a brainless zombie bragging about "kvlt stuff". If you wanna have a debate, sit down and talk, instead of lashing out. Sometimes it's you who must listen and understand, and I don't have anything against you personally.

Lemme rephrase what I discussed in the first place: There is no credible proof whether a musician should "necessarily" be influenced by personal experiences and struggles, BUT there are many cases where a musician has used it to write music or simply has neglected it in order to draw influence from another source. So, it's not like a moral absolutism to say all musicians follow the same principle and it's wrong or right. you got that?

And that is why I don't want to care about it because I support the music and the artist regardless of their personal lives.

I came into this thread to say that I recently got a cognitive behavioral workbook on depression that seems to be helpful and interesting, but your post is exactly what I want to say now...

I have got pages and pages of cognitive behavior exercises/work sheets given to me by psychiatrists and psychologist, but i swear this meditation thing (with the book) is better. It is based around the same thing though.
Also i do know different things work or different people, and what ever it is you need to put in a lot of effort, unfortunately changing the minds bad habit's isn't as easy as just taking a pill every day.

Have you sought help from music that is made specifically for meditation? I found it effective sometimes. But I don't know how to meditate by the book or how effective it is.
