Which one of Immortal's albums do you like more -- Pure Holocaust or Battles In The North?
I prefer Pure Holocaust. Better production and better guitar and vocal sound. Both very excellent albums by one of my favorite black metal bands.

Only good songs from both of those two albums are As the Eternity Opens and Blashyrkh(Mighty Ravendark)...the rest of both albums is too generic...even for Immortal's standards...

Yeah the songs on BITN are poor and the actual musicianship is even worse. It sounds so amateur it's unbelievable, especially the drumming, which reguarlarly loses time or misses beats. BITN is the only Immortal album that I never listen to.
Demonaz guitar playing on Pure Holocaust was somehow unique: something about his technique on that album is very special.

I don't know why, but I always liked "Battles In The North" a lot... maybe the simplicity.
