I honestly hope he is just very successful at trolling. I find him hilarious with the language he uses in his reviews and stuff, but I also get why no one wants to be roasted by their peers
I'm interested to hear what are the biggest metal bands in different country. Since Iron Maiden and Metallica are big everywhere, you don't need to mention them. I'm neither that interested in all alternative metal bands. In Sweden, where I come from, the biggest are In Flames, Hammerfall (both have scored no 1 on swedish album chart), Nightwish and Sabaton (scored no 2). There are a lot of bands who have scored top 5 in Sweden.
We don't really have well known metal bands from Aus. The most popular are the Metalcore bands like Parkway Drive, Amity Affliction etc. All terrible, but for actual metal bands I'd say Psycroptic is the biggest while the likes of Be'lakor, while very popular here on MS they are still very underground over here.

Not metal but AC/DC !

In Brazil, Sepultura, Angra and Andre Matos, i think. Almah's albums are often been at top of selling in some big stores, but It's not as divulgated as the other bands.
Can't remember if I posted here before or not, but definitely, Moonspell by a long shot. There are now a few songs that are making it outside of Portugal, like Process Of Guilt or Ava Inferi, but most of the good bands are still underground.
Over here in Australia, the biggest would be AC/DC (if you class them as metal). Apart from that, we have a lot of Alt metal bands that lean towards prog, such as Karnivool, Butterfly Effect and Dead Letter Circus. Aussies tend to like Aussie bands, so yeah. Other than that, I'd say Tool, Opeth, and for some random reason, Diablo Swing Orchestra is massive in my town, but I think that's partly my fault.

When God made up the golden rule, do you think he noticed that it condones rape?
Father and Cold Snap albums have charted high in Croatia. As far as controversy and cult following goes ?ivo Blato wins by far. As for international success goes there's Ashes You Leave and Omega Lithium ( most likely due to the huge german/austrian goth scene)
I guess Millennium, but they disbanded also they were quite old so not that famous right now.
Apart from them I guess Demonic Ressurrection and Kryptos along with Bhayanak Maut and Scribe.

If you never wake up from a dream does it become reality?
About big bands in Mexico I would say that Agora (Progressive), Maligno (Stoner Doom), The Chasm (Death), Strike Master (Thrash), Voltax (Heavy) and, *sigh* even if I despise their music I could say Transmetal (Thrash/Death) and Lvzbel (Heavy).

Live how you want just don't feed on me, if you doubt what I say I will make you believe...
I think Aborted is the biggest name out of Belgium. The rest: Ancient Rites (on hold I think) Agathocles (in grindcore a really big name all over the world) Enthroned (black) Channel Zero (thrash, reformed in 2009) Leng Tch'e (grindcore) In-Quest (a lot of kinds of death metal) and in the near future: Fractured Insanity (brutal death) Pestifer (technical death) Gorath (prog black) Saille (sympho black)
you should add Emptiness (Death/black)
and Drakkar (Thrash metal)
In France I'd say Gojira, as aside from their huge fan basis, people who usually don't listen to Metal kinda like them and have respect for their music. I've met plenty of people who are not into Metal and yet attended to at least one of their gigs. Which is not the case for Deathspell Omega or Blut Aus Nord, who are big names in the Metal community but fail to reach a wider audience.
In Morocco, I'll say that there's a lot of tiny bands here, but obviously no one can reach the:
Reborn
Nekros
Immortal Spirit
Total Eclypse
...
Importunately they all split out !
