What an Underrated Band...This New Orleans Band could Deliver The Doom...but also had the hate and rawness of Hardcore Punk...i dont recall ever seeing a thread for these guys...so i figured i'd start one.... any fans out there?

They are pretty famous in the Stoner/Sludge scene. Especially their album "Take as needed for the pain". I love that album.
Very heavy and pissed off sludgecore. Recommended!

yeah no doubt...that album is badass especially the song "Sister Fucker"....it sucks that their Gear got trash during the floods in new orleans

These guys are pretty cool...good ol' sludge/southern rock. I haven't heard of anything from them recently...are they still around?

well they released an album full of b-sides about 2 years ago...as for realease goes....i think they still tour though

I've known of this band for a while and I was pretty sure that years ago I had given them a listen and disliked them, but then recently I decided to check them out and I actually quite like them, very gritty and dirty, like wrapping up a muddy corpse in plastic wrap.

As underrated as Acid Bath was back in the 90's

Yeh I agree awesome band no recognition. Take as Needed for the Pain is my favorite. White Nigger is my most preffered track. I heard that Seth from Anal Cunt played with them, is that true??

This band has really grown on me for the past months. They're really fucking depressing in an angry drunken/stoned fucked-up kind of way, pretty much like Grief.

i listened to em last night they really make you feel... sick for lack of a better word Dopesick that word is just the culmination of everything that is eyehategod

Great band! The only band I can stand listening to when I´m really pissed of. Bower Power!

I was suprize to see this thread my self for its true they are so underrated band.
Ive liked then for a long time .. though i personally didnt know what to class them as so at leats i now have a good idea

Man I love this band! They really influence me alot. The music is so full of pain and emotion

Great band, always been one of my favorite sludge bands. Take As Needed for Pain is easily my favorite from them as it's a fantastic album.

@Dangerboner: According to Metal Archives they are still active. And they actually just released a live DVD at the begining of this year.

I'm pretty sure they toured witn Anal Cunt sometimes or that the dude from Anal Cunt did guest vocals sometimes when Mike didn't make it to the concert or something.

Yeah, Seth from Anal Cunt filled in for Eyehategod's vocalist while he was in jail (for whatever reason).
I also think that one member from Eyehategod is in Down or something like that.

Correct! The guitarrist from Eyehategod, Jimmy Bower is also the drummer from Down. Although I understand the comparison it feels weird to compare Eyehategod with Anal Cunt/Down since Eyehategod played before Down was even formed and while Anal Cunt was formed the same year as Eyehategod, the music is very different and Anal Cunt was obviously more of a joke band.
But yeah... I totally see what what's your point in terms of groovy-ness and filthy music, they can be comparable.
