Damad was a Savannah, Ga., metal band and kind of a precursor for the band Kylesa as several members from Damad went on to form that band. The band formed in the early '90s released two full-lengths and several demos, EPs and splits before breaking up in 2001. I recently found one of Damad's albums, Burning Cold, at a flea market. It's some pretty decent stuff that definitely shows the roots of the metal explosion in Georgia.
