Lemme guess something to do with a username?

Even though I am a totally huge fan of Danzig I through IV I don't really find Glenn's vocals all that emotional

Anytime anything about vocals comes up, Danzig is #1 in my book regardless lol.

And "Come to Silver," "Going Down To Die," "Blood and Tears," as well as "Cold Cold Rain" are all very emotional Danzig tracks IMO

Actually I'm not very familiar with his music. Not at all to be honest. I'm gonna give him a try

Really? That's surprising about the first 2 singers I thought.

Yeah, everybody seems to like them, except for me. I've tried it several times, but I couldn't get into those bands at all

Where is Peter Dolving from The Haunted?

Never heard of them before, but as I have hardly any interest in Thrash, I was sure that this not for me. Gave them a try nevertheless but didn't like it.

Was Quorthon a chance? He's pretty passionate(?) on his viking albums, especially the Nordland albums.

Imo, Quorthon has a voice that fits along with his music, but it's not an amazing voice. Even on the viking albums you can really tell he can't sing x)

I didn't say he was a good singer. I just said he had a lot of passion in his voice, especially on the Nordland albums.
Axl Rose is a pretty passionate singer, too.

The vocalists of Cormorant...

Listening to them for the first time and I gotta say wow, really impressive! Including the vocals. Will definitely give them a few more spins. Thanks a lot for the suggestion

The vocals on "A Howling Dust" off their 2011 album are some of my all-time favourites.

Vielleicht Matt Barlow of Iced Earth? Obwohl I don't know if he's emotional, or just extremely powerful ^^

I would second that. He does very good emotions in his voice. Not ALL the time, but when he does (Melancholy), wow!

Just because of the recent news, what about Burton C.Bell or even James Hetfield?

Hum, it really seems like we have a very different opinion on what's emotional. Besides, James' vocals suck for a long time already.

I agree, he can be very emotional. However, as I said already, for the moment I don't plan to enlarge the list, but maybe I will in the future and then he'll probably be in.

Thanks. Actually, I never checked out Virgin Black's music, but I will do so. According to their ms profile there's a high chance that I like them. Thanks for the tip!

and for Johan Hegg, well, I agree that he can be emotional at times (f. ex. on Under The Northern Star), but generally he's surely not the first singer who springs to my mind when I think about emotions.

I agree with the fact that his voice can be emotional in a certain way, but I find it sad that (on the recent albums) they used more computer stuff (treble, echo, stuff like that) to work on his voice (especially on "under the northern star").

Maybe not the most emotional on Earth, but still a very good vocalist : Eric Clayton of Saviour Machine There's something Candlemass-like in his voice in this song, if you see what I mean

Erik M.

What a coincidence I noticed this list while listening to Watching From A Distance. Before clicking on it, I immediately thought Patrick Walker should be in it. I have yet to hear another vocalist who has an even more emotional voice than that guy, damn. While I don't know some of these vocalists I definitely agree with the ones I do know, so good job.

I do have a few suggestions though:
- Tom Sedotschenko from Evereve (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFfTgZPRGRw)
- Aaron Stainthorpe from My Dying Bride (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hz-13-kz_XA)

Then it would be a top 13. Although these two easily beat John Haughm and Daniel Brennare in my opinion. Lastly, I might be wrong here, but doesn't Thomas Helm do the clean vocals in Empyrium? He does them in Noekk at least, but haven't listened to Empyrium in months so I could be wrong.
