****READ OR GET KILLED BY A GIANT LOCUST****

THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR PROMOTIONS!

This is for the garage band you play in with your buddies, NOT for your legitimate bands, those band promotions go in the PROMOTIONS SECTION

I know a lot of MS'ers are in bands or solo projects. I thought we should have a unique place to talk about our songs, and post vids or whatever. You can talk about any of your bands, past or present.

1. Rusulla
This is my sludge/hardcore punk band I've started with some buddies.Heavy Baroness/Black Tusk/Cancer Bats influences. We haven't recorded anything yet but were working on it

2. Somber Eyes
I'm pretty sure every MS'er knows about this so I'm not going to write about it. On Hiatus right now.

3. Elka

This is my Drone/Ambient project, currently taking the place of Somber Eyes. Writing daily, and have some stuff recorded (will post when complete). Heavy Sunn O))) and Hyatari influences.

We're not a performing band at the minute, as we need a drummer (and, depending on how the efforts of me and my friend work out, a guitarist and/or bassist), but I'm currently a member of Trunion. We're currently made up of me (vocals and bass, although I've recently made a breakthrough with learning rythmn guitar after failed attempts at lead), my friend and flatmate (vocals and rythmn guitar, although he's admitted to not having much luck with the guitar) and one of his friends (guitar and screamed vocals). I'm debating starting another band due to lack of activity, but I'm not really that sure of anything beyond me wanting to only perform vocals and wanting to try to combine power metal and punk rock.

I play Bass, and I'm always interested in preforming/writing with musicians. I'm not a fantastic bassist by any means, but I can hold my own. I know you probably want someone to play lives shows and such. Plus I'm not a fan of power metal

Punk can be great though, Agent Orange is one of my favourite bands

My solo project, Midnight Dreary! https://www.facebook.com/MidnightDrearyBand/app_178091127385 Just uploaded a new song there. Mix of melodic death/black metal with a lot of symphonic stuff in it. The new track has no keys/synth in it though. Check it out. Response has been good so far, but I can only do so much premoting when its just one person doing all the work youknow..

Edit: Better link here http://soundcloud.com/lukas-forsakken-marr most of those are for Midnight Dreary

Sang in a death metal band for a long time awhile go, did a bunch of covers, didnt write any of our own stuff because they dudes in the band were pretty much pricks, then i started a hardcore punk and, lasted for a couple months and now i started another band called Kreetur. What we play is pretty close to Schizophrenia era Sepultura and Pleasure to Kill era Kreator. Old school thrash stuff, but we still throw some death metal in there once in awhile. I play lead guitar and sing, write all of the music, got nine of our own songs right now.

Update guys:

I am currently in only one band: Infernal Sorrowbringer. I know, the name sounds kind of silly but we like it. It's a death metal band. We haven't decided what DM subgenre we should play but right now we are focused on covering classic stuff and write some lyrics. I am a bassist/vocalist and have now given up every other instrument I used to play. I'm also a member of a band that plays Thin Lizzy covers but we don't want to go any further. I may join another band because I want to have something to do when not jamming with my regular bands.

Note: If you look at older posts you may see that I was a member of about six bands for along period of time. I have also played as a session/touring member of local acts but it was really difficult for me to find time for all of the bands. That's why I'm never gonna do it again.

I hate how those high school bands just implode so often. I had been rhythm guitar in a band that ended up just being me and one other guy and I quit to start my own, which a year later broke up, and now the remnants are two bands, one that's chill and we don't care, and one where we are doing thrash songs and actually being productive and so that's great but the whole thing is just so annoying and volatile, I sure wish I could just find people who really agree with me so I don't have to do any darn compromising! Alright, I kid, but still, I'm sure people can relate.

Here's mine: Mileth
We mix Pagan Metal with melodic Viking/Black, Heavy-Power Metal and folklore from our region in Spain, Galicia (no, our folk it's not flamenco XD quite different, more celtic stuff).
Recently, we have made our first serious concert, lots of work to make it sound good since we are 7 people :S and recorded a home-made demo (quite crappy sound, but it's all we can do at home XD) that you can listen here:
http://www.reverbnation.com/mileth
and here you can check some pics or info (sorry that it's in galician language)

Think we might use the name 'Leech Coalition'.

I'm putting together a Prog Rock 3 piece with a couple of my buddies. I think we've settled on the name The Subdivisions. We probably won't be able to get any shows seeing as Wyoming doesn't have a booming Progressive music scene. Really we just want to get together and play some interesting music, and that's all that matters.

Have started a rock band with a couple of friends. Me on drums, them both on guitar. Need a bass player and vocalist to complete the line-up but still searching. Would love to play some metal songs but I don't have the ability on drums yet. Maybe in the future. Good fun and something I've always wanted to do. I think it's my mid-life crisis, in a way.

Just recorded a Motorhead track which is going to be part of a compilation. Basically different bands from India are covering Motorhead tracks for the compilation.

Anyways I'm wondering if anyone here would be interested in giving mixing and mastering a shot ?
We're going to be doing it ourselves, but we don't really know much and we don't really have budgets to hire someone for it :/
So if any of you are up for it, give me a shout.

You can check the band out here : Shepherd We're a sludgy/doomish band I guess.

I got a funeral doomish solo project which I've been working on for some time, but haven't managed to produce something I'm happy with until now. I'm very new to recording and stuff and I think pro tools (which I used) is damn hard to get along with, but I like the result I finally got with this track. Could be fun to hear some opinions.

I'm playing with my buddies, we are just trying to play where ever we want and get people to listen to us. We are a garage band that occasionally goes on vacation on stages. If you like metal and think sweden produced good shit, check it out. You might like it, it's our new single for our 2013 EP!

I play in a folk metalband called Druantia. We just recorded our first demo, you can definitely hear that it was our first time recording but I am really proud of it.
http://druantia.bandcamp.com/

I also play in a powerviolence/d-beat/crust/grindcore band, Bare Hands. We have our first gig this tuesday. A whopping ten minute setlist with 12 songs on it!

In between those bands I also am trying to start a solo project which should unite experimental classical music with avant-garde and modern dance and poetry. Like Schönberg composed together with John Cage.

I here by would like to intruduce a prog metal band. In my not so humble opinion these guys have managed to really "jazz it up!". I provide the spoken words and lyrics for them and contribute to this movement in linguistically as opposed to musically. Just check 'em out to see what I mean. And don't hesitate to let us know your opinion 'cause that's how we can get better.

Infernal Striker here. I opened a new account due to a problem. So let's start! I'm currently the vocalist of a grindcore/death metal band band. We haven't found a name yet but we're working on it. A friend of mine, a death metal guitarist offered me the vocals in a new project with another friend of mone who's a thrasher. I may take up the bass for this band too. We're still looking for a drummer and a fellow martial artist will probably fill the slot. Thank you for reading this.

Sirius. My one-man project for now, some sort of epic symphonic melodic death/black metal or whatever, reminds unpurposely of WIntersun but that's just what comes naturally to me!

My band just released a Single. Unfortunately last year I had to leave Spain, and they took another person to record the guitar for this song and replace me

This song is 4 years old, I think the last stuff that we made is much better

I've been playing drums in a progressive-thrash metal band called Paradigm for two years now, really kick-ass stuff in my opinion. We recorded an EP this year, unfortunately it's not released, we're not signed to anywhere, but we did all we could to create the best possible quality, you can listen to the five songs on our website: http://www.paradigm.ro/
