From Viking-tinged black metal band to progressive super-heavyweights, Enslaved have constantly evolved with each release. RIITIIR continues the path of progression as it tackles the near-impossible task of following on from their 2010 masterpiece.
I don't think they'd be coming out with a new one so recently after Axioma Ethica Odini... but if they are, BRING IT ON!!!
---- I am the Magician and the Exorcist. I am the axle of the wheel, and the cube in the circle. “Come unto me” is a foolish word: for it is I that go.
If you want to hear about a minute of a new Enslaved track, check out this interview. You will have to scroll down through the article as the song clip is embedded about two interview questions below the photo of the guy sitting at the computer.
From what I can tell, it sounds like a lot of the proggy elements are being brought back.
Absolutely wonderful. Maybe I even like it more than Axioma, which was already superb.
12 albums, 20 years of music, and Enslaved still can't do anything wrong... Hats off.
Still don't know whether i'll give this a 9 or a 10, I guess I should wait for maybe 2 years to decide
Ok, now it sounds to me like a collection of riffs, rather than a collection of songs...
After a first listen I loved it, but not as much as Vertebrae or Axioma...
By the end of my 2nd listen I loved this album even more, and I honestly don't even know how it ranks among my top releases from them.
Enslaved just continues to impress over and over again, this album is so damn beautifully crafted. mind continues to be blown by the material from these guys.
Very good! It's clearly more progressive than AEO and tests the listener but it's worth it. Only the last couple of tracks are a little weaker.
I also suspect "Materal" is a typo, I clearly hear them sing 'maternal' in the actual song, and I don't think it's even an English word in the current form But since the official tracklist seems to be this way we of course need confirmation.
I am glad to see Be'lakor may have the chance to no longer be in the top position of 2012
And, besides Enslaved, i am looking forward to the upcoming release, like Wintersun or Cynic

I actually think 'Forsaken' is one of the highlights of the album. Also 'Materal' as far as I know is the right spelling.
