MiRthkon is some sort of an avant-garde/jazz metal band from San Fransisco. Their 2009 debut full-length, Vehicle, gets frequently compared to a modern-day Frank Zappa, and while it took me a couple of plays to get into, it's been an album that I can't stop playing.

Let's put it this way: im listening to Baroness, The Red Album right now...and i just dont see myself turning it off to listen to yet another jazz-metal fusion band...i like metal...and i like jazz...when i want to listen to metal, i listen to metal...when i want to listen to jazz, i listen to jazz...rarely do i want to hear them both at the same time because it's usually being played by a band that cant do either style especially well and so decide to try and be 'original' by fusing the two styles...if i DO feel like listen to jazz and metal at the same time, i put on some Sun Ra and then some Napalm Death at the same time

I feel like a dick...i actually decided to give it a listen...and it's pretty decent stuff...i dont feel like a TOTAL dick because it isnt all that good...but it's pretty good
