In this topic, we can discuss the different types of browsers, including which browser is your favorite. Of course, if you're going to state which browser is your favorite, gives some reasons as to why so that you are not spamming. My favorite browser would of course have to be Mozilla Firefox. The reason why I like it can be summed up in three words: security, reliability, tabs.

So far i have tried Internet Explorer and Firefox, and since than ive stuck with firefox. I would suggest everyone who uses IE, to switch to anything else if he can, because it really sucks. And often viruses can infect it, so its lot easier to delete and reinstall Firefox or so, than reinstall windows. And also it has some helpfull, tools and add ons- I havent try many though, but I know some are useful in web designing, at least with dreamweaver.

I have also tried only IE and Firefox, and it's a huge difference.Firefox is so much better...in every way.There's no comparison between the two.It's not only the safety,though it is a big part. When you start using it,it's so much easier,faster...blah blah. It's just bettterrrrrrr in every way. Seriously..if you have IE,there's no reason for you to hold on to it anymore. Please switch to Mozilla Firefox.

Do you guys also have that Firefox some times deletes your bookmarks? It has happened to me once or twice. So far the only downside of it.

Yeah, it forced me to save all my bookmarks in IE. Which greatly annoys me, cause I can download 100 porn videos in the time that IE needs to load. And I'm talking lenghty videos here.

I prefer Firefox, I used to have IE but firefox is so much safer and faster and easier to use. I have a ton of small add-ons that make it very handy and safe. I dont know on my own knowledge, but ive seen reviews on it, its won awards for being fast and safe. I was on the phone with computer tech services because my internet traffic was being blocked by my own virus protection. The guy said Firefox was the safest browser you could possibly get. Especially since I downloaded NoScript off of the add-ons section, I dont really need virus protection.

Meh, I might look into the pros and cons of each, I use both browsers everyday and honestly can't tell much of a difference. If the security side is true i might have to take up ff full time when my norton trial expires in a few months.

Well, one aspect that makes FF more secure than IE is that it can be updated more frequently, being open-source. But the best thing with FF are the extensions. At first I didn't care about them, but now that I'm a more experienced FF user they are the main reason why I prefer FF over IE and even Opera and co. Simply put, if there's something I would like my browser to do, I just search for an extension and most of the time I've got something close to what I wanted. Hum I see you're doubtful, so let's say I want it to bring me money: I just have to add a Google "Get Firefox" ad to a site of mine

I'm always looking at the extensions and add-ons they have to offer seeing if there are any useful to me. Not to mention you can also make your own, but you have to be experienced for that.

I got a skin called RedShift V2. Look for something called "NoScript". It makes FF so much safer, it also blocks some advertisements. When you get it, it may block some features of sites needed, all you need to do is click on the NoScripts icon and you can allow things or block things. Pretty much just surf around on the add-ons section and look at stuff that suits you, but I honestly recommend NoScript. When I get home I will look at my list of add-ons and post them here.

Seeing how your a metalhead, you will want FoxyTunes. Its a small media player at the bottom of your browser without having/needing WMP window. Heres my add-ons and the description it has. Chatzilla - A clean, easy to use and highly extensible IRC. I don't use this, maybe it does something automatically, but I only got it because it looked useful. Distrust - Hides surfing trails your browser leaves behind. DOM Inspector - Inspects the structure and properties of a window and its contents. Download Statusbar - View downloads from a statusbar instead of having a separate window. DownloadHelper - Download videos and images from many sites (even from youtube). External IP - Displays your current IP to only yourself. ForecastFox - Displays your local weather in a toolbar anywhere you want to place it. Locationbar^2 - Emphasizes the domain name and decodes URL's for better readability. NoScript - Extra protection for firefox. FoxyTunes - as displayed above. YouPlayer - Displays a youtube player at the side of your browser.

Opera IS better, since it's more respectful of the W3C standards. The least respectful browsers being the IEs. But right now Opera lacks something that is amazing with FF: a huge community. Though I bet it's gonna improve given that Opera is one of the most used browsers for handheld hardware (or just alternative hardware). As I said twice now, the feature I like best with Opera are mouse gestures, so I searched for a FF extension that does the same (I chose All In One Gestures) and so I'm happy  Another extension that is great when you're a web developer is Firebug, a complete and handy debugger. I also use Full Fullscreen (the name is explicit).
