My Favorite Death Metal Albums

This list includes the death metal albums I enjoyed listening to the most. It will be frequently updated with new albums. Descriptions will probably be added soon.
Ordered alphabetically.

1. Asphyx - Last One On Earth
A maddening opus of grating old-school death metal.
2. Atheist - Unquestionable Presence
Relentless and dynamic with jazzy soundscapes.
3. Autopsy - Mental Funeral
Gore galore and repulsive sickness. Filthy, raw doomy-death metal.
4. Benighted - Asylum Cave
Brutal beyond imagination, yet unimaginably catchy. Amazing modern death metal.
5. Bolt Thrower - The IVth Crusade
This is the thinking man's death metal album. Think groovy death metal with lyrics on war.
6. Brutality - Screams Of Anguish
Definitely underrated. Interesting old-school death metal with many hints of melody.
7. Cryptopsy - None So Vile
Wreaks havoc upon your ears. Fantastic brutal death metal played masterfully at break-neck speed.
8. Death - Spiritual Healing
The last of Death straightforward death metal albums. Great guitar work by Chuck.
9. Dismember - Like An Ever Flowing Stream
Swedish death metal at its finest. Dark, brooding and too old-school.
10. Dying Fetus - Destroy The Opposition
Crushingly brutal. Pissing At The Mainstream? That's great.
11. Edge Of Sanity - Crimson
A story told in one 40-minutes piece of stellar proggy, melodious death metal.
12. Gorod - A Perfect Absolution
Technical yet very melodic and catchy. One of the records you enjoy from the first second.
13. Kataklysm - Shadows & Dust
Slams pretty hard, even though it doesn't topple over any other records on the list.
14. Malevolent Creation - Retribution
Very, very intense and aggressive, this is a death/thrash album of the highest quality.
15. Massacre - From Beyond
Destructive, cult-classic from this group of previous Death members.
16. Master - On The Seventh Day God Created... Master
Raw, aggressive and agonizing. Representative of everything old-school.
17. Monstrosity - Imperial Doom
Cannibal Corpse? Screw them! George Fisher sounds much better with Monstrosity.
18. Necrophagist - Epitaph
Muhammed Sucimez is my inspiration, and Epitaph is a tech death landmark.
19. Necros Christos - Doom Of The Occult
This fine record of slow death metal creates an engulfing esoteric, ritualistic atmosphere.
20. Netherion - Sphere Of Terror
Relatively new band/album from Syria. Could use some promotion, as they're really adept.
21. Nile - Annihilation Of The Wicked
With their dabbling in middle eastern music, Nile prove their originality, skill and consistency.
22. Obituary - Cause Of Death
CHOPPED IN HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! BLAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH!
23. Obscura - Omnivium
Listened to it when I was bored from all metal. Luckily, this tech death album had the potential to pull me back.
24. Suffocation - Pierced From Within
So brutal and so damn WTF? inducing. Every lead, every solo, every beat and every riff is of world-class quality. Pierced is my favorite death metal album, and will probably remain so.

Maybe a stupid question. But why does this list have Behemoth - Demigod (imo a very run of the mill none special dm album, but that's besides the point) as accompanying picture when the album isn't mentioned in the list itself?

Well, it's an old story... I changed it. It's better this way.
