Every band has to start somewhere and regardless of where they end up, it is always worth looking back at where they started. Bring Me The Horizon may be a near diametric opposite band nowadays, but the common thread between the band of 2006 and 2020 is that of evolution. Kicking off the journey is Count Your Blessings, the album that kicked off the career of one of the most divisive bands in music today.

Not bad for the band's debut, but it's nothing particularly special. The interlude of 'Fifteen fathoms, counting' is a nice break from all the intense aggression going on, but otherwise everything never stops being heavy or intense.

Sooner or later BMTH posters will find their way into young Tanner's room... <shudder> .

But seriously this album I wouldn't call a 9 but it is really good still.

Pretty fun stuff. Extremely inconsistent but when it's good, it's some solid deathcore with some real cool riffs. Braille is a really creepy song too.

I'm still in the boat that think BMTH would have been a rather interesting death metal band if they pulled a Job For A Cowboy instead of worrying about their image so much.

Overwatcher, MS Xena, crumbled him in no time. MS needs you to kill the boredom in here.

This album really kicks ass. Some great riffs and lead guitar parts. The production is meh and so are Oli’s vocals, but it’s sick when his high vocals are layered over his low ones. The outro to Pray For Plagues is so classic, it always gets stuck in my head.
