Why is it on myspace, I put a small banner of MS under music, but when I received a comment from MS it had the same banner. The question is, why is it that the banner shows as a red X but the comment still shows it?
Hey Baz, do you always maintain the myspace?

yep, it is me and wrath that deals with everything on there
you are trying to use the banner from the Metal Storm server and for some reason it wasn't loading a moment ago, but it does now - so your banner should be working now! hopefully..
if it isn't I don't know what the problem is.. some privacy setting somewhere..

You can't hot-link to MS pictures from anywhere else. A lot of sites have been using our pictures and thus wasting our server resources - so I switched it off.

indeed it would, just make sure the link is to Metal Storm and not to photobucket or wherever though
it is annoying whenever I see a picture uploaded with photobucket and the people just leave the photobucket link in there

That's still hotlinking, because when someone visits your myspace, they will connect to the metalstorm server to get that picture, not to myspace, therefore using MS's bandwidth on a page other than MS. Just wanted to clear that up

Oh, this thread has been revived... As far as I'm concerned, I've pretty much stopped managing the thing, not sure anyone is still in charge. MySpace is a good tool to get in touch with new bands, but then it's quite a pain in the ass to manage and update...

No, it links from its save from Photobucket. If you save a picture from a website, and the website goes down, that picture you had saved would still work.
It doesnt matter anymore anyway, a long time ago I PMed Ivan about adding an HTML box for the banner codes and he did it.

We're going to post bulletins very regularly (most likely either every week or every two weeks) containing information about the newest site updates and info about the newest publications.
