Highly original EP from a very strange band

I have to admit I was not familiar with the music of The Meads Of Asphodel till I received this great EP through the mail; however, judging by the band's unusual image (they wear medieval knight costumes, together with swords and all), I was expecting some sort of really traditionalist and raw approach to black metal. After hearing In The Name Of God, Welcome To Planet Genocide I can safely conclude that my assumptions were completely wrong - this is some of the most avant-garde and forward-thinking black metal I have ever heard.

I can understand people not liking this band, but not liking this song is a sin if you ask me.

The end speech of Aborted Stygian Foetus is pure gold

Damn, my version has the ending speech cut off

But it has some bonus tracks that were suppose to be under a release called "Celestial Abbatoir" and had no idea of their existance ! A bit similar to Aborted Stygian Foetus, with a gloomy/spacey atmosphere and not very metal - more industrial but not too electro as the former one though.

Love the release anyway, The Man Who Killed For God makes me cum and the intro is spot on (the lyrics, always the lyrics with the Meads !).
