American

Some cool shit to get everyone through MS's servers constantly shitting out. The first thing is Temple of Void's debut album Of Terror and the Supernatural: it's a pretty solid death metal album with lots of doom undertones, and even some catchy melodies scattered about. It's definitely not very original, but it's solid enough to play through. The second album is Predatory Light's demo MMXIV. It's super dark and very atmospheric black metal that has a nice raw edge to it. Again, not original, but excellently executed.

Yeah I heard that the other day ^ the production is amazing.

To add to the enormity of this thread, here's some fun grindcore. It's recorded by Jacob Lee of Keeper, which is how I found them. The band is Fiend, and this is their EP titled Derailed. Nothing really special, but it's standard grindcore so that's to be expected.

Sorry then, a misunderstanding I assume. i pretty much covered all mainstream extreme metal for this year. I'm getting tired too of the usual tech-death formula. I'm really looking for something fresh from the extreme metal scene.

Yeah in Mz's list you have some of the best of the year. Many are my personal 2014 favourites.

Extreme doom metal from Sweden

Here's some absolutely colossal sludge metal, with heavy doom influences and some hints of noise and stoner seeping into the riffs creating a brilliantly filthy mixture. It gets really hazy at times, and super groovy at others. The vocals are pretty standard, and there isn't much originality going on, but this is one rocking album

Death Metal with some atmospheric sections. Don't know why I enjoy this one tbh (actually a 2013 record released this year).
