It usually takes 2 or 3 listens for me to make a decision about an album. About 2 or 3 times a year I have a difficult time making a final decision. This is the first for 2014. I've listened to this album at least 5 times now. I cannot make up my mind. Part of me wants to throw it in the recycle bin, part of me wants to download the FLAC version and put it on disc. What say you?
To me it's pretty standard stuff. I knew I liked it after a couple of songs. If you've tried 5 times and still aren't sure you like it then it's probably not for you, as I don't think it really needs that many listens to "get" as it were.
New wacky grind from Japanische Kampfhörspiele (guess their split didn't really happen after all).
Ha, within 5 seconds of checking this song out I thought to myself "Hmm, sounds a little like Negative Plane." Go to check MA and what a surprise this is a solo project of the drummer/ vocalist from Negative Plane. Weirdly enough though it's not Nameless Void. Either there's been an error or obfuscation with who's actually written this album or this guy has taken a stupid amount of influence from him. Interesting stuff nonetheless.
Somewhat more raw than usual "atmospheric" black metal (or so is claimed) from Canada. Personally sounds a bit too dissonant to me but that makes it far more interesting I think anyway.
A teaser from a black metal album I'll be checking out at some point. Sounds raw, occult but quite varied. Particularly like the bit with the Urfaust-ian vocals. Potentially very intriguing.
Would have been better in the news as it is "just news" but as you can only do featured bands ill just put it here
If the band has an Invisible profile you can still submit news for it, just select the first band in the drop down, and make sure what you put in the Comments field that it needs to be tagged to Band X and the news team will make sure to link it to the correct profile.

Real nice debut EP from solo project Abandon City. Found this digging around Bandcamp and it was quite the pleasant surprise. Wasn't entirely sure where to put it as it bounces around between post-metal and post-rock so I'm putting it in both the metal rec thread and the non-metal.
Massive piles of yes. French band. Not sure what they are really as there's a shit ton of influence here, but I suppose industrial blackened death metal would come closest, but blackened death with loads of other influence like downtempto electronica / ambient, bits of Gojira, Fear Factory (in the nicest possible way) and who knows what else. Really quite accessible too considering how much they have going on. Don't recall an "electronic" metal band sounding as good as this.
This is kind of a blend of depressive (shoegaze) black metal and screamo/post hardcore.
Not exactly very good, but I found the idea interesting. See what you think: Bandcamp

Honestly I've so far listened to only one song, but if it remains to that extent the whole album then
one can expect stuff like Spite Extreme Wing or Janvs.
Edit: I heard more and yeah, it's a must hear for SEW fans.
Why is it that Italian atmospheric black is so good? Bandcamp
