Technically, they formed in 67 as a blues band under a different name (ultimately several names before JP). Additionally, none of the members from the 67-69 era ever lasted into the recording years. KK Downing is the oldest-standing member, and the band we all know and love as JP didn't really begin to take shape until well into 1970. Hence, my choice of 70 as opposed to 67 (or 69 if you prefer).
