Debemuir Morti just announced this via their Facebook. Unbelievably excited for this. A split between these two can only be apocalyptic (in a good way)

To be honest, I'm more excited for the P.H.O.B.O.S part of this split as BaN treats us with its music on a regular manner and we recently had two BaN records.
Hopefully, something similar to the 2nd album of phobos will appear again.

Not that his 3rd album is not good, but seriously the 2nd one is unbelievable. The best thing I came across for the first time in 2013. It's hard to believe that an album could be able to reach the level of heaviness of it. Like khanate playing industrial blackend doom. "blackend extreme sludge industrial drone doom metal" or something like it D:

The tag I invented sufficiently describes their sound ;0)

I'm not hearing the sludge in P.H.O.B.O.S. at all. An after all the tags, the word extreme is way too redundant, even if it was done only half-serious.

Whoa, the drums sound so... organic. Kind of odd. Not a bad thing though, just different. The solo / clean section also sounds a little different from the usual, though only subtly. Also strangely headbangable in the latter quarter.

What an excellent song. Probably the freshest the band has sounded in a while.

Yeah. The real drums are a nice addition here.

If this is a hint at what MVIII will sound like, then I have really high expectations.

I'd be surprised if it was. I don't think that'll be anywhere near as industrial-oriented.

The song fuckin' slays, that second half.... The drums are excellent, hope they use the same for mviii (I like it more than the drum-machine that only works better for the industrial thinggy).

Pretty surprised by this, because it is a part of aplit with PHOBOS. I expected something more industrial. I generally prefer drum machine over real drummer but on this track I think the drums are doing well, given the not so inhumanized approach to songwriting.Hopefully, as stated, MVIII will sound like this.
Love the final part and those chung-chung riffs.

I expected something more industrial.

Funny you say that. It might not have programmed drums but this is still industrial metal. I certainly wouldn't call it black metal apart from maybe a few passages (though I think it sounds more like more faster paced industrial than black in the latter third or so), which is why I don't think MV:III will sound anything like this.

I'm 100% sold on the drums though. They really work. Those clean vocals in the background are great too. As it stands this is best thing they've done since Liber II. Towers massively above Debemur MoRTi, which I really haven't bothered with since I first heard it.

Open your eyes people. the P.H.O.B.O.S. side is up there too

Sounds pretty good. Not quite Atonal Hypermnesia level but definitely better than the stuff before it (better than the new Godflesh single too )

Of course it is industrial, but I generally expected it to be more free of soul and dehumanized.
Also, you say it's the best thing since liber II like they have done 1434314134 albums after it . We still need the other 2 tracks but certanily love everything they've done after Liber II, and also DM was great.

The bad thing is that I cant listen to PHOBOS part right now :'[
Edit: fuck it, I'm listening to it right now.

Ooh, that drumming was fantastic indeed. Classic.

I really need to put this one up on my watchlist asap. I love Enslaved. I guess I never hate their any work( including bad works if they have. I tend to didn't find any one of 'em.)

Well it's been 2 years and 3 release since Liber II. More than most bands would put out in that amount of time

Also, I've never felt BaN were free of soul even at their most industrial. In fact sometimes they have more on those releases.

Well, I may not be much of help here. There was a time which I got addicted to this serie of videos by this guy and remember that he recommended a lot of bands like that, but I forgot the names because I'm not very much into it. =P
Perhaps if you crawl into the videos you'll find something nice there.
I remember a few names: Thorns, Manes, Solefald, Vehementer Nos, IYI, Smohalla... But I remember there was a lot more

Good EP. Unfortunately none of the other tracks here match up to the brilliant 'De Librio Arbitrio' song, but BaN's other ones are still pretty good.

P.H.O.B.O.S.'s side is decent but a little repetitive, even irritating at points. 'Ahrimanic Impulse Victory' is a good finisher though.

Hate it so much when the best song of an album is the preview one.... Already happened with Liber III and now this (I still have to check, but I guess you will be right )
