Any list albums that should be inclued in the collection, bands and/or albums.
EDIT: Now we've got a lot of Tech DM bands added, make sure you go through and check if the band has been added or not, saves a bunch of repeats. Also lets get a little discussion about some of the bands.

Cynic, Atheist and Death are my favorite. But i'm not sure Cynic is really an Extreme Metal band (i mean "focus" the 2 last albums clearly aren't extreme)

I don't think they're as techy as people say, a single tap sweep tap run has been done by so many PM guitarist now it's old already. lol

04.04.2011 - 08:16 Written by Tormentor666 on 04.04.2011 at 02:32 Personally I love Necrophagist.. its a great band. Even though Yasmine thinks its not that technical They do great guitar-work. And IMO they're technical enough to be called TDM lol and are really worth a listen. Epitaph and Onset Of Putrefaction are two great TDM albums.

04.04.2011 - 18:20 Written by zero on 04.04.2011 at 11:59 I don't find anything wrong with being demonstrative when ur melodic and keep it right on track sure they show their skills... but some people do like their style and im one of those and I don't really care about weither or not they are demonstrative. I find Onset and Epitaph to be awesome albums on the TDM scene.

By the way, there is my band in the "suggestions" topic (at the end of the 1st page). The band name is Pestifer. Zines describe us as a "Tech death metal band" so I'd be glad to read a few comments.

Obscura, Gorod, Gorguts, and the latest Decrepit Birth albums are pretty technical. All the other pioneer technical death metal artists are mentioned by others.

Not gonna comment on all these Hellgate Yattering Algophobia - pretty unique sound they have. I personally like them alot Beheaded - really good, solid band Gorguts - of course, classic Inveracity - Brutal band from Greece. Love this band. RenChei - From China, pretty brutal and awesome Behold... The Arctopus Crimson Massacre - they're alright, band from texas Decimation Defeated Sanity - one of my favorite bands, brutal technical death metal from germany Demilich - also one of my favorites Domination through Impurity Exmortus Formless (has a tiny bit of clean vocals) - only released demo Goats Gory Blister HIdeous Deformity Illogicist Iniquity Internal Suffering Lykathea Aflame - uses other instruments Malignancy - really good Mindly Rotten (highly recommend) One of the craziest bands ever Odious Mortem Orgone Portal Quo Vadis Visceral Bleeding Vortex Wormed - I personally really like this band. Crazy technical Vörnagar - Friend is in this band. Pretty melodic though. Viraemia Theory in Practice Pavor First Fragment Allegaeon Then there's all the bands that everyone knows like Brain Drill, Suffocation, Origin, Nile, Spawn of Possession, Neuraxis, Decapitated, Cephalic Carnage, Beneath the Massacre, etc.

I see a few there that wouldn't be technical at all by most standards.

Cool list HoboRobo, you've pretty much covered most good ones. You could add Hieronymus Bosch to that as well.Pretty cool TDM from Russia (I think). I used to be a big TDM fan, but I've gotten quite bored of it, coz its pretty much the same stuff with all the newer bands, nothing new. I still like to listen to a few bands now and then Behold the arctopus (Marston is pure genius, love most of all his projects) Gorguts Illogicist- these guys were a really cool find, very melodic and a great bass player. Their second release wasn't that great though. Pavor is another decent band, great bassist again Sickening horror- their first album was awesome again sweet basslines, the second album didn't impress me that much though. Gory blister had some cool stuff as well

I find Decapitated's first album to be one of the greats of TDM that i have heard. I think because the wrote the material at such a young age (i think Vitek was in his early teens) and could make such complex music, makes them brilliant.
