Well I didn't find a topic on Deicide yet,one of the most important Death metal bands from Florida. From their self titled album to Scars of the Crucifix,Deicide have shown no sign of slowing down yet and are still one of the best Death metal bands ever.

I heard a lot of things about "legion" and downloaded it and it was a good decision.
No clue about other albums after Legion although some say they are very much shallow.

@villain you should give the new album, The Stench Of Redepmtion, a listen. It's Deicide's best work since about a decade or more ago. If you like melodic solos, this is a must have.

Dude Diecide is one of the most deathmetal sounding bands there is, so I would hardly call them Black metal.

Their last album 'The Stench Of Redepmtion' is really great, tho i have listened only to couple of their old stuff. The only thing i don't like there - satanic lyrics

deicide is a great band, mussically speaking, but i really don't like that they give to much importance to the satanic image and lyrics.i know it's for the"show"but anyway, who likes this stuff nowadays.it's a pretty imature point of them.but it's a great band, a very influencial one in the death metal scene

I think that you are the first person I've seen that has blatantly preferred their old stuff to the new album...I haven't heard the new album, but I'm curious as to why you don't like it as much.

Mostly, the old albums have more heart and soul in music. The Stench Of Redemption is good album, but not for me. It don't have that specific raw sound and other things what are in older albums.

The last album is realy great. The new solo guitars are incredible, thats new mark of Deicide. This new/old death metal group is killing for ears and brain I think that The Stench Of Redemption is number one of death metal albums in 2006.

Since they released "The Stench Of Redemption", I completely forgot about the Hoffman brothers. This is the best line-up Deicide will ever have.

I never mind the lyrics in death metal. It doesn't matter what they are, because you usually can't understand what the vocalist is saying anyway.

If you read lyrics and listen to them at the same time in couple of times you'll understand every word..well allmost. But hell, who am i to tell you that

I think the lyrics are awesome in Deicide personally...I like how Benton makes it so that you can hear every single lyric perfectly...you gotta respect that...Deicide to me is more about the music then the message, although, since I'm atheist, I think the lyrical content is cool and badass haha...Deicide to me can sometimes be a way of life...I like playing Deicide around people who are super religious and seeing them repel in horror...that's probably one of the reasons I have Deicide is to shock people with it and to be different...isn't that why we listen to metal in the first place?

Hell yeah dude. Glen Benton records the vocals one line at a time so that he can be as articulate as possible. I enjoy how well the lyrics flow, and some even rhyme...which makes the blasphemy even more enjoyable

@Basso: That's a great idea haha...I actually play Deicide a lot at my university gym where I work...not a lot of people come to work out there, but when they do, it's not like they seem annoyed but I can tell that it gets to them...there was this one guy that used to play emo music in there and I used to turn it off on him and put on death metal haha...

@pyroleprechaun: Yeah, I have the Scars Of The Crucifix album that came with that DVD and it shows Benton doing each line at a time...the part where they go into Steve Asheim's house and they look at his gun collection and all that haha...
