Who doesn't! I'm not sure it would ever happen though. For me Vindsval would have to match the production as well as song style from that record. I can't really see that happening.

I think if I say it one more time on MS, I'll get banned, but me too Zaph. I'll still listen to this, because I feel kind of obligated to.

But without a retarded sounding drum machine

Actually, the sound of drum machine is one of the most important elements of BaN's works. Cant imagine TWWTG and TEoAM with human drums.

Probably not, but that doesn't mean I can't want it . However, I'll probably enjoy this one nonetheless, just not in the same way.
I really need to listen to more of the recent BaN records, since I only know most of the pre-777 (of which I didn't like the first one the first time I heard it, so I never continued) stuff so far.

Haven't heard this one yet. But if it is anything like I and II it will be TOTALLT generic.

The sample leads me to believe it's more of the same basically.

That album, while unique, was a total borefest. So yeah, I agree with you for sure.

That being said, I'm looking forward to MVIII quite a lot. Didn't like MVII as much as MVI, but both are solid albums.

It has leaked! Clean vocals, melodic riffs with a folkish touch. I've never heard BaN like this ever.

It's a fake, please listen attentively before judging and spreading the lie. It's the new debut album by the heavy metal band Sons Of Crom.
The same thing already happened with the incoming Aphex Twin album, and a lot of people are talking nonsense because of a fake.

There's a brief official snippet of MVIII on Soundcloud, you can clearly tell the differences.

Well, that's good news. Was a little bit skeptical when I first saw the torrent file, but decided to give it a go.

China was a neat
It is updated in their facebook page that Memoria Vetusta and What Once Was.. are not trilogies.

Also I find this one to be far better than the standard artwork of this album.

Leaked. The real one, this time.

Almost finished listening and I can't say I was too excited about it. It was surely creative and melodic and overall good, but lacked the celestial vibes of MVII and the rawness of MVI. It might be just something else, and I have yet to grasp it... or maybe not. We'll see.

I had a couple of spins and I think it's the least melodic album out of the MV series which is not necessarily a bad thing but even such straightforward album could use more variety. I like the drums though and who knows, more spins might improve my view because for now I like the previous MVs more.

Quite a not bad record. Stays away from the sickly sweet melodies of MV:II and seems a bit better balanced. Probably not something I'm likely to visit all too often though.
