This might make your day. There is an obscure german band, named Koyaanisqatsy (you might be familiar with the movie of similar name), unluckily not much info is available on them but they did put out a great record more then a decade ago that's worth listening to.

Some songs you might want to check out:

Since the whole thing has a conceptual feeling to it, I'd say Ayreon listeners could also be caught up spinning the album a couple of times...


And by this topic I'd like to invite everyone on an adventure, trying to find out what happened to the band! What I could find out that the key player still continues to put out some of his stuff via his soundcloud page (https://soundcloud.com/wolfman-koyaanisqatsy), and found somewhere a short article that mentions a tragedy struck the band but no real explanation whatsoever. Not to mention if we could bring them back together and they'd record another album that would be amazing!

I had followed this band closely after their reunion in 2005 and added all the musicians to Metal Storm's database back then in order to add the band sooner or later - which I have done today: http://metalstorm.net/bands/band.php?band_id=8944

They broke up in 2000 after their bassist died in a traffic accident. The guitarist and the keyboarder reunited five years later and recruited singer Gaby Koss for some songs with vocals. They shared some snippets (without vocals) back then and they sounded very promising, but that was the last I got to hear of Koyaanisqatsy. Later on they used their website for news about the keyboarder's orchestral works and about some dodgy topics like chemtrails and whatever. Oh well, at least they left us with a brilliant piece of orchestral progressive metal.

Ivor since no label was ever mentioned I think it was but locally distributed in Germany so chances are very slim, your best shot would be to find people who rated it on RateYourMusic and PM them if they are interested to give away. Good luck!

Are you speaking from experience or have you actually ever gotten hold of something rare that way? I wouldn't bet on it happening. Besides, it's probably the download people have heard and rated.
