Its a nice occasion for special people, over here you dont even have to have a girlfriend to give some a gift. The reason why its so commercialized, is because of the occasion. It is a time that revenue can be made because of the huge demand for gifts. Or it can go the other way where companies shove valentines commercials in you face but I really dont get that so its not a problem for me.

I mean, if you owned a flower shop or a gift shop and Valentines day was around the corner wouldnt you try to push your sales past other competitors? I think anyone would...

I voted against... I hate Valentine's day coz everything's in pink and love is in the air.

I guess its relative to where you are....I guess some places really overrate the occasion but I think its harmless and in some respects good IMO.

Well one thing we must understand is that maybe is not the day itself , because it is a nice day to celebrate love and friendship and all of that , the problem is that companies have make it what it is just like Chritsmas , but I really think that it shouldn't be ignore the history behind it which dates back into uhmm third century ? in rome well somewhere around there but it has a history behind it , so like I said is not the day itself that is bad and all of that it just what companies have make out of it . To me it's a beautiful day and is one more day that I'm thankful for because is one more day I can tell my love how much I care and love him .

I voted against, because I think it's incredibly stupid to have one day to remember the person I love or give her a present or do something special with her, when I love her every day, and can call her, or go to drink something, or dinner, or whatever any day, and give her a present wihout a reason at all. I find it incredibly stupid.

Here in Colombia there a date like St. valentine, on september, called "Day of love and friendship" so it's pretty much the same, the teddy bears, roses, and card sales go up to heaven, everything is pink and red and filled with hearts and shit... Pure bussines, nothign more
